Nestled in central Georgia, this cotton plantation was owned by a single family for more than 140 years. In 1974, nine surviving adult children donated the plantation site to the State of Georgia for the preservation of the farm and the education of future generations about their heritage.
An amazing place to visit, with original buildings on the property, it is like a little village. The family still owns some of the land and runs a beautiful bed and breakfast.
On a recent trip to Juliette, GA my husband and I stopped at the famous Whistle Stop Cafe, from the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes".
After 22 years it is still thriving. This is a tiny town where one person owns all of the buildings on this street.
It is a total tourist trap, but lots of fun. The food was great, so if you ever have the opportunity to go it is worth the trip. While visiting we learned that the building was originally a general store. The movie company turned it into a restaurant, and it has been just that ever since.
While dining a train actually passed through the town, which made it even more fun! Watch for more chalkboard cards soon!
Our grandson Addison was born with what others would call disabilities... We call him amazing. The photo is of him playing baseball in a very special league, he plays for the "Braves". The league is for children and adults with disabilities.
All of the coaches volunteer their time to the teams. Each team member gets to hit the ball, run the bases and score a run. The league was started in Conyers, GA, USA. The first custom made field was completed in April of 2000.
Presently there are 250 Miracle League Organizations across the US including Puerto Rico, Canada and the newest member in Australia.
The Miracle League is proud to serve over 200,000 children and young adults with disabilities.

This was super hero day at the pre-school! Certainly a day to remember. She is so animated, loves to smile, have fun, and have her picture taken. One for the guys, and the other for your Halloween enjoyment. It is right around the corner now.
School is in full swing now, and Monticello played their first football game of the season. Sadly our team lost...but there is always next week! The photo is of the school marching band, and they put on a great show at half time!
