Graduation Day

This is my good friend Betty's daughter. Her name is Samantha. She just graduated high school with academic honors. In the fall she will attend college, where she will pursue her dream to be a high school literature teacher.

Samantha had a lovely after graduation party where all who attended had a great time, eating, drinking, and celebrating her accomplishments.

Best wishes for the future Sam, we are all so proud of you! The two card featured today are the cupcake mini kit with oodles of elements, and the other is a flower pot card with a removable tag!

Confederate Monument

This monument was unveiled on April 6, 1910 on the square in Monticello, Jasper County. The old courthouse was to be torn down, leaving the square to be used as a park. A group of women started planning for a monument.

It was ordered from McNeal Marble Company, at a cost of $2,800.00 USD. They began fundraising to pay for the monument. The women wanted the monument to be unveiled debt free, but still owed several hundred dollars. They solicited local merchants through the use of sales and coupons and raised $700.00 over six months and the monument was unveiled debt free.

Now the park is used for local craft shows, with lots of food, music, and fun for all who attend.

Cuba

Recently my sister in law took a trip to Cuba. Her family is from there, which gave her the opportunity to visit. People from the US are not permitted to visit unless they have family members that live there.

She took lots of photos which gave us here in the states a rare glimpse into the architecture and lifestyle of the Cuba of today.

I am sharing two photos today the top one is a food market, and the bottom is a picture of Havana.

Let The Decorating Begin!

My son and daughter in law got their tree. It is big, and beautiful. They got it all set up, added the lights, and the red ribbons. Now all that is left is to add the ornaments...and wait for Santa!

Thank you to everyone who has looked at and purchased my sheets...Have a blessed and happy holiday season!
