No sure if I told you all about my new opportunity. I have always loved arty stuff from making clothes to knitting with my Nan and then I got into cardmaking and designing cards.
A few years after I got interested in Jewellery making too.I came by jewellerymakerTV by accident when channel hopping on TV.
Once I watched it I was hooked. Ive had a bit of a sad year, I lost Mum earlier in the year then in July my Son qualified as a teacher and moved to Dubai, whilst I am very proud, I miss him.
Anyway at a lose end and with my Son pushing me I done a screen test and interview for Jewellery Maker and have been their newest Guest Designer.
I started making jewellery a few years after I started cardmaking/designing. I took it more serious 3 years ago after retiring from the rat race early. I would make for friends and family and do the occasional craft fair.
I have always been a fan of Jewellerymakertv and buy all my gemstones from them. More recently I became part of their Makers Squad which is basically making jewellery for their up and coming jewellery kits to be shown on their TV shows.
This has increased my confidence tenfold.
I have been learning a new hobby or rather an extension of my jewellery making hobby. I am learning silversmithing. Its amazing!! I have met two lovely ladies called Kay and Pauline, we have become fast friends with our own WhatsApp group.
We have learnt new things like how to measure properly before cutting silver and then how to solder and polish so you end product looks amazing, I adore my new hobby
My friend and I just had a marvellous weekend, we went on a spa break to Telford in Shropshire. The hotel itself was gorgeous, set in lovely gardens. After we had some very relaxing spa treatments we decided on a little stroll which turned into a 5 hour hike!!
Our aim was the Iron Bridge. We got diverted and visited Blists Hill Victorian Town, it was really interesting, they still used a 16 century building as a coffee shop where we just had to rest for a cream tea!
We then finished our trek at the Iron Bridge designed and constructed in 1795 by Abraham Darby lol.
After what has felt like an age of freezing cold, wet miserable weather, we have had a few days of warmth and beautiful sun!!
As you can see in the photo my garden has appreciated this lovely weather immensely!
I dont think I have seen my clematis so large and perky. I have decided to go and buy more to fill the other side of the fence.
