Hello everyone i run a craft club every fortnight and we do everything from embroidery, knitting, painting, crochet and more this week i introduced them to making cards and how to download sheets from craftsuprint they all enjoyed it and made some great cards and have all now become members of craftsuprint to start downloading and making their own cards .

We recently got a blood orange moon which is not something you see very often. Quite striking in colour and It lasted for quite a while.
Summer is officially now finished and we have gone into Autumn but although some places have been getting rain we have had virtually nothing and the temperatures are on average 24 degrees so lets hope it stays around like this for the whole of Autumn.
Now that would be lovely. I am showcasing a couple of my latest Peeking cat designs today. There are four in total and multi linked together.

…Is someone elses Treasure. As my husband and I live in a small one bedroom retirement bungalow storage for us is essential and precious.
Now and again I do have a clear out of stuff Ive hung on to just incase.
Usually the incase part never materialises so I usually have a good sort out and take it to our nearby charity shop.
Now, the idea is to drop the stuff off and not come home with something else but on this occasion I couldnt resist.
As we were leaving I spotted a small armoire, it was about 12 inches in height.
It obviously had been painted and the owner must have been a heavy smoker as it was heavily covered in nicotine.
Inside was a shelf, and some small brass hooks had been screwed in the back probably for keys. Unfortunately they poked through the other side as they were too long. I hadnt done a makeover in a long time but I saw the potential of a jewellery cabinet.
Giving it a good wash and sanding it down, removing the doors, hooks, knobs and hinges I filled in the holes.
I painted the whole cabinet white, then used black on accent areas. Finally I used napkins with a black and white floral print and glued them to the main body. I sealed the whole thing and put new hinges and door knobs on.
The whole thing took me a week to do and I love it.

Recently I had a few days away, and one of the places I visited was Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, Victoria, OZ.
It is a Historical Re-creation of an old Gold Mining Town. Very interesting to walk around.
I have been to see this place a couple of times before and never get tired of it. There is a main street with the shops of the time, there is a section on a gold mining camp and the conditions they lived and worked in.
A street with houses of various sizes and expense was available to walk around and into - these were the luckier ones instead of living in tents.
Of course there was also two gold mines you could go down on a tour. I thoroughly enjoyed my step back in time.

…. Weekend …. and another lovely walk! The weather was beautifully sunny again this weekend! I was up and about nice and early so it was a bit chilly too! lol. It was sooo worth it though!
The sun soon came out and although still cold it made everything so much nicer, including the views! This country park is near Annesley Hall, which was home to Lord Byron. I had a lovely 10 mile walk, most of which was on footpaths, tracks & bridleways so I got to see lots of birds and wildlife, including a couple of hares!

I thought you might like to see a very interesting piece of artwork that has appeared outside the lifeboat shop on the seafront.
We walk past the lifeboat station every day on our dog walk, and one of the crew members has made this welly boot dog out of lifeboat crews old boots.
It seems to be a growing trend as they appear at different stations all over the country. They are so fun and the dogs were fascinated!

On 20th February a tropical low was located out in the Coral Sea. Two days later it was upgraded to a tropical storm and around 4pm the Bureau of Meteorology upgraded it to a Category 1 cyclone and named TC Alfred.
This Tropical Cyclone (TC) kept moving to the east (away from Australia) and another two days later it was upgraded to Cat 2 before turning south and continued to intensify into a Cat 3.
As it continued on its southerly track again it upgraded to a Cat 4. It continued down the coast before turning west and on 7th March it made landfall on Moreton Island as a Cat 2.
It then sat off the coast of Bribie Island before moving onto the mainland and quickly down graded to a low.
This is the first cyclone to make landfall down in this area in the SE of Queensland in 50 years.
The coast line from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast and down into Northern NSW was severely impacted with winds over 100kph and over 1000mm of rain recorded.
Where we are, somewhat inland a little we were fortunate to not cop the full brunt of the TC but we did get flooding and fortunately only branches down but we did lose power for several days and had no internet or phone service.
There is still large areas without power and phones. Having grown up in north Queensland were cyclones are a given every year, we were well prepared and although a low grade cyclone I know the damage and aftermath a cyclone can do.
I wonder if it will be another 50 years before we have a cyclone pass over the Brisbane area?

…Spider, in fact a Tarantula. My daughter suffers from arachnophobia, since a teenager no matter how small, we always heard shrieks of blue murder we knew my hubby had to go catch a spider.
They were never killed just put back out into the garden.
So imagine when her neighbour invited Harry the youngest to come over and play with her little boy. Kayleigh took Harry and on visiting discovered that they had a few unusual pets, one being Kayleighs greatest nemesis a tarantula.
Harry was loving it but Kayleigh was terrified, for her, even looking at a picture was bad, but she decided to try and face her fear.
The arachnid was place in a lidded container and The picture was taken. Apart from her being brave, she did try to smile although it looked more of a grimace and I can see fear in her eyes.
I am proud of her for getting this far.

…. was a beautiful weekend this week with lovely warm March sunshine… soooo …. I put on my walking boots and headed for Weavers and Kennel Lane.
These lanes are a lovely off road walk that I can do from home, Id started out before 7:30 and walked over 12 miles by the time Id got home again!
We are sooo lucky to live in an area with lots of places to walk.

I get so excited when I see the new post box topper in the distance. We were having a lovely walk with the dogs in the sunshine, so the new topper was very fitting. Its Spring! I love the colourful flowers that the lady has knitted.
What happy sight to see! I expect the next one to be Easter, I will let you know.

At one minute to midnight on March 4th 1987 our daughter was born. Tuesday was Kayleigh Saaras 38th birthday (and yes her middle name is spelled right). As always I spoke to her on her birthday.
As her husband Paul is on deployment in Cyprus her friends at RAF Benson were going to help her celebrate.
One of her friends cooked her pancakes for breakfast with it being shrove Tuesday, and made her walk on the school run decked in birthday goggles and badge.
On the evening her friends decorated her living room in green and pink balloons, because Kayleighs favourite musical is Wicked.
One of her friends made a fantastic Wicked themed birthday cake. They all gave her either Wicked gifts or Cowgirl gifts (because she also likes the series Yellowstone). All in all she was spoiled, but had a fantastic day.

The last month few months havent been easy. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November and had an operation to remove it just before Christmas.
I thought that would be it, but then found out in the new year I would have to have chemo and radiotherapy, followed by a few years of hormone therapy, which was a bit of a blow.I was really scared of having chemo, but I think Ive been lucky with up until now, because its not as bad as I thought it would be.
Ive only had one cycle so far, and I did feel quite rough for a week or so afterwards, but last weekend I felt well enough to enjoy a night out at our sons favourite pizza restaurant.
Nothing too crazy, but it was the most normal Ive felt since my diagnosis I think, and it was lovely to spend some quality time with my family.

… lovely Great Grandson, Noah, is now six months old and its looking like he will definitely be a technology wizard! lol Im fairly sure that when my daughter (Noahs Grandmother) was the same age as Noah is now that she was happy lying in her pram or cot and being fascinated looking at a few toys strung across her pram or cot! lol

Golden Retrievers are known for being drama queens, and this week our two really took it to another level. My husband and I have both been unwell for the past few weeks, but Billy and Sam were very well behaved, even with their routine being disrupted.
Just as we were starting to feel better, however, Billy developed a hot spot sore on his hip, and Sam split his nail at the beach!
This is how they looked for a couple of days. Theyre both okay now, but it was clear they didnt want to miss out on the attention. Hopefully, we will all be back to normal soon.Today is the last day of my SALE!

…Sixty Three. Sunday, 23rd February was my 63rd Birthday. Wow I do feel more than my age but my mind still thinks Im sixteen lol. Oh how I wish I could have the energy I had back then. I suppose we all do when we head into these years.
Ive never really been one to celebrate big, for me its just another day and a higher digit to my age.
We dont have a big family, I have no other siblings, being an only child and my parents passed away years ago.
My husband and I decided years ago not to buy gifts for each other and we do the same at Christmas only buying for our children and grandchildren.
This year I asked my daughter not to bother as I didnt really need anything, but she wanted to get something, which was a pretty bracelet.
It was lovely because the card it came on said Mam, which is unusual. We originate from the North East so it was a lovely touch. Apart from family cards, there were two special ones.
One from a young lady who we used to take to church who, never forgets our birthdays even though we dont get to see her.
The other was from my dearest friend who at this moment in hospital seriously ill and the outcome is not looking good, who still managed to text me from hospital to ask if I got her card ok.
To me these cards were the most beautiful gifts.
