Ed064 Art Deco Mandala

I cannot resist Art Deco and this design is gorgeous! I chose to use very different colours to Emy's original to show the variations possible. I slightly reduced the design so that it would fit on my 14cm square base card, then pricked it. There are a LOT of holes so make very sure that they are all pricked before removing the pattern - I hold the design up to the light as any unpricked holes show up easily then. The hard work is now done!

I used yellow and blue variegated DMC threads, rice beads and seed beads. I recommend stitching the centre ladder and the curved edges that run off this first so that the flourishes from the rest of the yellow can be stitched OVER these - gives the 'ribbons' a lovely flow.

I finished by using a corner punch on the edges of my green card before flat sticking it to my blue base card. BEAUTIFUL!
