Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community (3)
I have used this delightfully easy, small stitching pattern as a Christmas adornment to this greeting card and added the small main image from cup1043635_983, a design by Amy Perry as an embellishment and some large gold peel off Christmas sentiment words.
The main white card is cut at 24x15cm.
To this I have added the backing sheet cup 1049542_21027, Red and white diagonal Gingham cut at 14.5x10cm. The main white card and the backing sheet have the edges defined using a red permanent pen. The stitching design was copied onto white card cut at 13 x 6.5cm and this white card also has the edges defined with the red pen.
I completed the tiny gold metallic thread stitching first to be sure to define those clearly. I then completed all the curves and swirls of green using polyester thread. The central design of crossed red lines and curves I have stitched following the easy instructions and completed this stitching using red polyester thread before attaching the beads.
I have used 5mm gold metallic rice beads together with tiny gold glass seed beads for the 8 central section and 5mm red metallic rice beads together with 2 tiny red glass seed beads.
In total I have used 40 beads made up of the following, 8 gold metallic rice beads, 8 tiny gold seed beads, 8 red metallic rice beads and 16 tiny red seed beads.
I secured the stitching and beading at the back using magic tape and attached this completed topper to the card front using red power tape.
I mounted the lettering onto white card edged with the same red pen and attached these using padded D.S. tape.
I then attached the gnome’s image using padded tape.
I added some gold peel off snowflakes as extra embellishments and used my fine line black pen to add the cute escaped locks of hair.
I have used the red and white diagonal gingham matching insert for the inside of the card and attached a small image of the card front onto the left hand side using gold peel off strips as embellishments.
This has made a delightfully happy cute Christmas greeting card, with which I am very happy. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
