I have called this beautiful card, which I have made, Fresh Violets. The backing sheet for the stitched design is a very pale version of Christmas lace effects, cup814313_79993, a background design by Clare Walker, and measures 14x13cm.I have used a deep purple permanent pen to define the edges.
I completed the stitching and beading before attaching the green ribbon vertically on the left hand side. The next backing sheet is dark mauve, cut at 15 x 14cm and I have defined the edges with the same pen, before attaching it with red power tape.
The satin pearl finished green and white swirl backing sheet, cut at 16 x 15cm, is attached with red power tape and has the green ribbon tails secured at the back.
The main green card is cut at 31x16.25cm and scored and folded before attaching the topper and adding the hand drawn and coloured violets and bow.
To complete the insert, I have used 2 sheets cut to size of the same Christmas lace Effects backing sheet and altered the hue to be pale purple and attached the small image of he finished card front and left a space for my special greeting.
To complete the stitching, I have used 152 tiny violet seed beads, 13 purple sequins, 6 round 3mm iridescent glass beads and 8 violet glass tube beads.
To complete the project I have used 166 beads and 6 sequins Each of the 7 main flower shapes have a sequin centre with 4 of them having a 3mm purple round glass bead and the other 3 having 3 tiny seed beads attached to the centre of the sequin with 16 seed beads to make the 8 petal shapes.
I have used 6 sequins for the bud shapes, and used 3 seed beads on 4 of these and a round bead on the 5th bud.
The thread is single strand green embroidery floss and for the buds I have used dark mauve embroidery floss.
I used the mauve embroidery floss to attach the beads. This is a beautiful design which makes up into this stunning card. I will make this design many more times altering the shades and floral image to suit the greeting and occasion.
Thank you Emy, I am sending you a big hug. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
