Stitching with beads

This is another very quick, easy and very effective border design for almost every occasion. I have used this design today as an Easter card by incorporating Crafty Bob’s Sassy Cheryl Single design, cup373070_1519, as part of the feature on the card front.
I copied the sheet provided onto white 120gsm white card and cut it at 14.5x13.5cm. I have used single thread embroidery floss in pale purple and dark people to complete the stitching before I attached the beads.
I have used 35 white round 3mm pearls to complete the ½ circle, 13 of the same white pearls for the small swirls and attached 4 of the small pearls to the 4 pink metallic pink sequins.
I have used 10 silver 8mm metallic rice beads to complete the project. The main backing sheet I have made by attaching a 15.5cm x6.5cm plum purple and a 15.5 x9cm dark purple sheet together to make a full sheet to measure 15.5 x 14.5cm.
I have used a2.5cm wide ribbon and a narrow silver edged purple ribbon together to wrap vertically at the centre join of the 2 sheets and secure at the back.
The satin ribbon edge is 4.5 cm in from the left hand edge of the plum purple card. I secured the beading and stitching by attaching a white 80gsm sheet cut at 13.5 x 12.5cm to the back of the work using red power tape.
I then attached the prepared purple backing sheet using D.S. tape. I made the card front by printing a mid-purple white spot backing sheet onto A4 white card and scoring and folding it to measure 17x 15cm.
I have used D.S. 6mm wide tape to attach the topper and then added the silver decorative peel off strips as embellishments.
I have printed the sheet, cup373070_1519 onto white A4 Crafty Bob, 200gsm matte photo paper and cut out the elements to fit them in and around the pearl ½ circle.
I have used thickened white glue to attach these elements and used a pale green water colour pencil, very lightly, to help blend the egg girl and rabbit into the scene.
I have added the sentiment and the 2 ribbon bow to complete the card front.
To complete the insert, I have used cup411825_1056, by Karen Wyeth, Cute Pink Hearts, as the insert and printed and attached the verse I have written and used the ribbon and the rabbit as embellishments.
This has made a beautiful card, and I thank all the designers for their delightful work. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
