Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
I have used this magnificent design as a Golden Wedding Anniversary greeting card today and have used variegated metallic thread to complete all the main stitching and double strands of gold metallic thread to attach all the beading.
The 16 gold 1cm metallic rice beads form the central theme and the 16 gold metallic sequins form the next circle each with a tiny seed pearl attached.
The very outside circle has 16 tiny seed pearls attached.
I have made the main card before attaching the finished topper using a white 15cm square white card and made the backing sheets using 14.25cm square gold foil, 14cm square tiny gold leaf white background paper, 13cm square black background paper, to join using D.S. tape and attached the 0.5cm strip of gold foil paper across the middle section and then attached all 3 joined backing sheets using D.S. tape to the main white card front.
I trimmed the finished stitched and beaded topper down to measure 12.5cm square, and secured all the stitching threads at the back using light weight card and D.S. power tape.
I then attached this topper to the card front and made a paper bow using an extra 0.5 cm strip of gold foil to fold into a double bow.
I haven’t attached the sentiment as yet and have used the same gold leaf backing sheet as part of the insert.
This has made a beautiful card and I am delighted with the outcome.
I will use this design for a Christmas card and a Wedding card at a later date, using different threads and beads.
Thank you Emy, I love this design. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
