Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
This is a stunning design and I thought that it would be the perfect time to try out the new DMC Coloris embroidery threads. These threads contain a number of related colours so I used matching seed beads and bugle beads to emphasise this as well as the spacers the design specifies.
I pricked the design on linen textured white card and stitched it. The instructions are very easy to follow - the only part that needs some concentration is the outside circle. There are 3 rows of holes pricked for this - you bring your thread up in the innermost set of holes but you go down in the MIDDLE set of holes (the outside line of holes are for the beading. Once you have this pattern established the outside circle is simple to complete. I then trimmed my completed work and flat stuck it to a card that I had faced with a pastel rainbow paper.
