In between designing cards I like to do some knitting, and just recently I found a pattern for making a teddy bear in eyelash yarn.
Here's the results of my handwork - Pinkerton and Beau.
They turned out so cute I had to give them names - I don't think I'll be able to part with them!

Has anyone noticed our Bobby seems to have put on a bit of weight in the last little while? Methinks someone had too many mince pies at Christmas. Did you make a resolution to lose weight this year, just like most of us, Bobby? Happy New Year!

Just wanted to let you know about a newspaper article I noticed on a trip across the border.
In case you can't read it clearly, here's what it says: "Homeland Security announced today that the citizens of this great country have fallen in love with a handsome young man with a decidedly British accent and a winning smile.
He has replaced our beloved Lady Liberty in the hearts of all cardmakers and designers in every state. He has even replaced her on her pedestal at the entrance to New York.
Thousands of Americans turned out to welcome him here when he arrived, and they are looking forward to getting to know more about this new arrival who is known as the Robin Hood of the crafting world."

I was so excited to get a phone call last week to say I was going to receive a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for volunteerism.
This is Canada's way of commemorating the Diamond Jubilee in this country - they don't go in for street parties much over here :-( Here's a picture of me and a couple of other River John people who received the medal, along with our local MP and Minister of Defence, Peter MacKay, and Senator Pamela Wallin (I'm in the middle.)
