The Horse by Carol Clarke

My hubby Terry and I had a day out in Derbyshire recently and spent a lovely time in Cromford looking round Arkwrights Mill. We have visited it many times but always enjoy returning as its such a lovely place. This watermill is not the quintessentially quaint sort of mill we tend to think of but a large factory type complex. Sir Richard Arkwright was a pioneer of the Industrial Revolution through his inventions of cotton spinning machinery and manufacture. He began building in Cromford in August 1771 and created the worlds first successful water powered cotton spinning mill; a vital step towards full scale factory production. After having lunch in Cromford village itself and shopping in nearby Masson Mills (another of Arkrights Mills) we stopped at Scotland Road Nursery in Tansley and thats where I saw this amazing life sized rearing horse!!

Below are 2 of my NEWEST On the Shelf Cards. Watch out for more Coming soon ... Just as soon as Ive drawn the characters! lol

SPRING LAMBS IN AUGUST by Wanda Lipski

Visited the plateau of the Vercours this week, a huge plateau in the mountains (all above 1200m) which was a resistance stronghold during WWII. The resistance annoyed the Nazis so much that they sent in 20,000 to wipe out around 500 men, destroying more than 500 homes, and scores of (non-resistant) men, women and children in the process. Due to the height of the plateau, it was pretty chilly up there, so nippy in fact that I feel this can be the only explanation for this surprising photo. I always thought that lambs were born in the spring, but apparently spring lambs are born here in July/August! This is either a function of the weather (lol) or more likely the fact that the French NEVER do anything the same way as anyone else. To keep the sheep theme, here are couple of Christmas cards featuring sheep. ENJOY and thanks for all your support.

Chilly but fun! by Kelly Barker

It has been non-stop fun in our little seaside town for the last few weeks, lots of events going on and we have tried to get to most of them. We had a bit of a quieter Monday, but by Tuesday I needed to get out and about again, so I took the girls to our local outdoor swimming pool. It was beautiful weather, but the pool isnt heated and due to the pool being filled later than normal this year because of maintenance work being done it was a lot colder than usual. There were even caution signs up warning of the cold temperature. That didnt stop my daughters from having a fantastic time though and they thought me treating them to a lilo was the best thing ever. I definitely want to take them again over the summer, its been years since I have been there and my 5 year old had never even been. I think I may get pestered now she realises its there. I have puts lots of lovely items on special this week, including these two best sellers. Thank you for looking and please remember to click the follow button next to my name on the website.

I am a winner! by Tina Fitch

W ell I did it! Yes I won the top prize this year at the Ford Fair event, Best RS on the stand! I have worked so hard to make my RS the best and this year was the year for me!With a wrapped body and a blinged out engine bay I finally got my prize, Second place I took two years ago but it wasnt good enough for me I had to work harder and that hard work paid off nicely. The Ford Event is once a year and all of us that attend work very hard to have something different from the rest... I am over the moon! The next couple of weeks are also important with more show and shine events coming up.. Lets hope this win is not the last!

My designs are in all formats for all machines only here on CraftsuPrint... http://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

Horsy Bella by Joanna Swinton

Today my oldest Granddaughter, Bella is 6. I went over to their house in the morning to give her a present and card. After playing with the children for a while it was time for them to go. They were going off for Bella and her younger brother Kieran to go horse riding. They loved it. After, they went to play in the play park. On Sunday she is having her school friends over for a special dinner. She had a great day. Happy Birthday Bella

Acadia National Park by Debra Laraway

This is Acadia National Park in Maine, US. For our 30th anniversary we took a trip through Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. I love the water, so had lots to photograph on the way. We were afraid being from Florida we would be cold, but the weather was lovely and we didnt have one bit of rain until the last day.

Music Festival! by Sue Way

One of my favorite events of the year is the music festival in the little seaside town of Brightlingsea. Its a few miles away from us, but my daughter is lucky enough to live there. The weather was wonderful and we had a fab time as always. Hubby and me took the girls round the stalls and asked them what they wanted and they chose these pretty flower garlands for their hair. As they wanted to wear their hats in the sunshine, Jessica came up with the great idea of putting the flowers around the rim. Imogen didnt want to do that so I looked after them on my hat instead lol We had a fantastic day, with music, dancing, family, friends and food. Here are a couple of my 12 items that are on special offer at 20% off! Dont forget to click follow next to my name so you never miss my updates and thank you to everyone who follows me. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

1 year old today by Joan King

My beautiful grand daughter Brooklyn is one year old today. How time flies. She has brought a lot of joy into my life and the only grand daughter I have in New Zealand. I have two older girls in the UK but I dont see them. We are having a special birthday party for her on Saturday when everyone can get there and of course I will be in front of the queue. This is a picture taken on her birthday but like the Queen she is having two birthdays!!!

Glorious Weather for the Ekka

by Robyn Cockburn

Its Show time in Brisbane and the weather has been so lovely. Mild, sunny, cool breeze - the best it gets really! So crowds of people have been enjoying the amusement rides, cattle judging, show jumping, fruit and produce displays and of course, the fine art, cake decorating other other competitions. My Dad makes beautiful woodwork pieces - usually jewellery boxes in the shape of things like butterflies, peacocks, sea shells, turtles, hearts etc. They are always his own design. This year he entered one of his vase of flowers shaped jewellery boxes and won a prize. I hope you like my new water colour style cards. There are a number with birds and flowers but I am rather fond of my new one with a coral reef scene. :)
