Sometimes.......... by Janyce Cotterill

Sometimes all we need is a little break, a change of scene, a few days away to revive and refresh. Which is exactly what we did last month. I shared with you a couple of mailers ago the beautiful ponies who live on North Berwick Law, here are just the final few pictures of our time in the East Lothian area. One of the beaches, the abundant seabird life in the area and Dunbar harbour. It might be our last visit up there this year - but then again......who knows? Im leaving you with my latest designs - they are all entitled Sometimes...........because sometimes in life we all need a little something to keep us going, to make us smile, to help us along, to brighten our day. I have uploaded four designs so far and hoping to get more in the series completed soon. Thank you for your interest and if you are going away this summer for a day, a few days or longer I hope you have a wonderful time and are able to share some of your photos of your trip in the mailer.

School Fayre by Joanna Swinton

My eldest Grandchild Bella is the only one at school. Last weekend they has a school fayre to raise funds for the school. Last year they bought a set of drums, a guitar and amplifers. I went to help my daughter with the twins. It was a wet day so it was inside. The hall was packed. My daughter took part in their Bake Off, they had to bake a decorate a cake. She also did one that she decorated with Diabetic Awareness. Bella is a diabetic. This was a dairy free cake. Our 3 year old has alleries and dairy is one of them. Both cakes were done beautifully. It was the Picnic cake that she entered into the bake off. She started cake decorating in January on a Monday afternoon. She has come a very long way since then. Sadly there is not enough funds for a class to run a level higher. Well Done Amanda!!!

I love this card style. I have designed quite a number of this lovely cards for all different occasions. Very pleased with these. You will not have to put an insert in as this is in the kit

Up Close And Personal by June Harrop

On a recent trip we visited Lemur Wood, Blackpool Zoos very first walkthrough enclosure. The lemurs are quite at home living in the natural wooded enclosure and quite like the attention they recieve from visitors. I could not believe how close they came to people. Although you could not feed them you could participate at feeding time which all the children really loved. They are sun worshippers and we saw quite a few of them stretched out, arms over their head soaking up the rays. It was nice to see animals roaming free. Below is a photo i got of one cute little fellow that came and sat down right next to me.

Here are 2 of my Latest Christmas designs. Thank you for looking xx

Alfies summer coat. by Sue Way

As its been so hot the last few days, we were very happy it was time to get Alfie in for his summer groom. His coat was so thick he was constantly panting. We asked her to thin him out and trim his feathers as much as she could but so that he still looked like a Golden Retriever lol . Our groomer Kelly is so lovely and told me Alfie was a really good boy. You can see how relaxed he looks in this picture Kelly took while she was grooming him. He is certainly more comfortable with his summer coat and he looks even more beautiful than ever. He is also very soft and smells as fresh as a daisy too. Today I am promoting my new Cute Little Ladies Scalloped Round Easel Cards. I have a few more coming up soon, so dont forget to click follow on my page so you never miss my updates. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Another Wedding by Robyn Cockburn

Not to be put off by a little rain another of our beautiful nieces, Anna, got married last weekend to Ryan. The flowers, the dresses, everything was so lovely. Even their little dog participated in the ceremony - he was the ring bearer! LOL I not sure what it is about their family but their major events seem to attract rain. On the day of Annas brothers wedding there was so much rain roads were cut by flooding! They had to go to Plan D for the wedding ceremony (it was supposed to be a garden wedding). Then Anna had a bridal shower in the mountains a couple of weeks ago. There was so much rain Paul wouldnt let me drive by myself so he took me there and waited in the car (messing about on his computer of course). Ill be keeping them in mind next time we have a drought. :)

I hope you like my new card designs - in the shape of gift boxes. Plenty to choose from!

Hidden Owl by Anne Lever

I live near Clarks Village outlet shopping village. I quite often have a wander round the shops, and even more so at the moment as my children have found pokemon go and are always dragging me out to pokestops! The bosses of the village are always doing new things to make the village experience more enjoyable, and at the moment they have placed lots of beautifully carved wooden animals and birds all around the complex, most almost hidden from sight. I saw this gorgeous carved owl for the first time yesterday. I know there is also a deer, a badger and a fox, but Im not sure that I have found all of them yet :-)

FLYING THE FLAG AT HALF MAST SINCE BASTILLE DAY by Wanda Lipski

On the balcony of our house we are flying the tricolore at half mast since the horrendous events during the fireworks display in Nice on Thursday. So many people mown down while celebrating Liberté, Fraternité, Egalité. Everyone, but everyone is talking about it as we count the increasing death toll. CUP readers may be interested to note that in France, half mast does NOT mean half way down the flag pole, but tied TO the pole so that the flag cannot flutter. In the absence of any suitable black material, my resourceful husband used .... one of his socks ! Our prayers are with all those families who have lost loved ones, or who are sitting beside hospital beds waiting ....May they all rest in peace.

Raffle Winner by Vicki Avcin

At the end of June my husband went to the Volunteer Summit at the Gold Coast for 3 days. The Summit is a series of workshops for both Rural Fire Service and SES personnel. They went down on the Friday and registered/checked in before having a BBQ dinner in the evening. Not your average BBQ this was beachside at the resort. Saturday was taken up with them doing 4 workshops and then a gala dinner on Saturday night. Sunday they finished off with two more workshops before all going home. About 200 volunteers attended the Summit. These Summits are held every 2 years. At the dinner on Saturday night they had a raffle and this time round was a 21 inch Android Tablet up for grabs. Hubby had stepped outside while waiting for dinner and said when he came back into the room, people were pointing at him saying there he is…….. yes hed won!! Well he won it but it is for the brigade that he is a member of and was representing. We said they probably wont let either of us attend another Summit as I attended the last one and won the prize then. The photo is of my hubby (Pete) handing over the prize to the First Officer of River Heads Kingfisher Rural Fire Brigade and the members all looking at it working when set up. It will be a great asset for the brigade for mapping and other programs we use.

Ducks In A Row by Carol James

Have you ever wondered where the expression ducks in a row came from. Apparently there are numerous theories but my favourite is this one that comes from the world of nature. Mother ducks often corral their young offspring into manageable straight lines before travelling over land or water. Any stragglers or escapees would be noticed as long as the integrity of this line is maintained. The idea of getting all of ones ideas or ingredients or team members in one organised line would be similar to a mother duck getting all of her literal ducks in a row. And dont you ever wonder why they always look so seriously intent on where they are going? Almost as if they are on some sort of mission. I love ducks...Here is a photo taken at the lake which is within walking distance of where we live.

Party Parlour by Kelly Barker

Last weekend Imogen was invited to a 5th birthday party at a really fun venue. It was a party parlour where there were three floors of amazing party fun. When the children arrived on the ground floor they all got dressed up, mainly in princess capes and tiaras, but there were a few knights and pirates too. They then all had a group photo taken with the birthday child sitting on a throne. They then moved on to the party room, where there was a wall of T.Vs so they could watch themselves dance and lots of headphones hanging on the wall incase you opt for a silent disco. The children could also have glitter tattoos and nails painted and enjoy the bubble and foam machines. There was also a quiet area and more fancy dress. On the 3rd floor their was a beautifully decorated area for them to have afternoon tea, before meeting Louie the lion and going back down stairs for party games and a Pinata. When the party is done, its back to the ground floor for the children to fill up their own sweetie bags from a sweet cart! It was such an amazing party and I think you can tell from the photos that Imogen got right in to the spirit of things, I think I am going to get pestered when Imogens next birthday creeps up. I have just updated my special offers so here are two of my items which both have 25% off! And dont forget to click follow next to my designer name on the website, so you never miss a new design. Thanks for looking.

Wild hedgehohgs and Heatwaves by Patricia Platt

Hi everyone. I have a big request of each and everyone, no matter where you live. Please put down bowls of water on the ground. Lots have bird baths for the birds, but other creatures need water too. I have had two small hedgehogs in here this past week one was really dehydrated and a friend of mine has also had a very very dehydrated hoglet in, It is still touch and go with it. She has named him little Crispin. She has a bit of a wicked sense of humor, but you need one somtimes to put up with what we have to put up with in animal rescues or you wouldnt last long. My two here are named Pat (neighbor ladies named her after me. and the other is little Lily. Lily doesnt even have teeth yet! I will look after them now until they are ready to go back to the wild. Which wont be for some months ahead yet. Pat is ill, and I am having to do some of my magic to try to get her better, which consists of medications and some hand feeding and tlc. Little Lily is just a tiny baby and so will need hand feeds of specialist foods to help get her up big and strong. So if you all could do a little bit of putting out water and if you want to feed them too, some kitten biscuits or cat food would be appreciated. Never ever give a hedgehog milk as they are lactose intolerant and if ill it could kill them. Thanks. :)
