Our Dog Millie by Patricia Platt

We lost our dog Roxie to cancer and I took it pretty hard. We got another dog though she will never replace Roxie in our hearts she can join her there. She is also a rescue dog and has come with some issues. She is great when we are out on walks and with other dogs, which Roxie had problems with. But Millie is over protective of us at home and around her territory. We are working on this, but we dont get alot of visitors here to sort this problem out. Another problem was night terrors. She would just shake and shiver and start climbing the walls. After some guidance from our vet and alot of patience on our part we now have that problem sorted. But she will have panic attacks when it comes to loud noises and fireworks. But we know how to help her get over her fear. She is such a clever dog and one with a big heart when it comes to us. And though she has problems I am glad we were able to give another rescue dog a home.

My Beautiful Vase by Vicki Avcin

Well it was Mothers Day a couple of Sundays ago and my daughter told me about four weeks ago that I was getting a parcel in the post. She told me shed spent the day wrapping it and was posting it in good time to arrive. Sure enough the postie turned up the following week, a nice heavy rectangular box. I said to the postie that it was from my daughter and he reckoned it was an iron! Why an iron? I asked him. Well he said, Right size, about the right weight and Woolworths had them on special last week!. I told him I dont need another iron! But for the next few days he kept saying Bet its an iron. Well my daughter came up from Brisbane on the Friday for a quick visit but I wasnt allowed to open my present till the Sunday morning. I tried saying it would be nice to open it while she was there but she insisted it had to be opened on Sunday morning! Well I was dying to know what it was but that didnt work. So Sunday morning arrived, Mothers Day, and I get to open it. I opened the card from my son first (she brought that up with her) and along with the lovely card, there was a gift card in it. So then on to the present. Beautifully wrapped, card on the outside, and I am pleased to say it is not an iron. It was a beautiful crystal Vase. Marquis by Waterford, 9 inch vase. How awesome, I love crystal, and I didnt have a lovely big vase. Ive only got smaller ones that usually dont fit a full bunch of flowers in it. I am so happy it survived the postal service and arrived in one piece. So then the dilemma…… I had no flowers to put in it, garden was not flowering. So hubby went out and came back with a pretty bunch of flowers, which was lucky because usually shops sell out the day before. So the photo is of my beautiful vase and the flowers to put in it.

Baxters 11th birthday! by Kelly Barker

It was my beautiful golden boys 11th birthday this week. I always buy him some teddies from the charity shop for his birthday and this year he got one a little early as I just couldnt resist his face. On his birthday I took him for a nice sunny walk over the field and we went to my mum-in-laws for dinner, he always loves a visit. Baxter has been on a diet for the past couple of weeks, but as it was his birthday I put some tuna on his dinner, which he of course loved! I love this boy so much, he is like my shadow. Heres a couple of pictures of Baxter enjoying the sun on his birthday walk and showing off his new teddies.

Convoy! by Tina Fitch

We had ourselves a lovely RS Convoy all the way to Simply Ford At Beaulieu! Was a fun filled day with every Ford Car you could think of, From old to new!The Weather was slightly unsettled to begin with but soon brightened up to give us a lovely day to see everything. Lots of modified cars to look at with loads of new ideas to work from too.. We once again passed all the wild cattle in the roads and hedgerows just casually walking and eating the hedges, I love to see them wild, they give you no trouble you just have to slowly drive past... Cameras at the ready Mind!More new designs uploaded for you again this week , as always in all file formats here.. http://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/ Thank you for your continued support, and of course if you like what you see please click the follow me icon where you will see the new designs first!

Old Annesley Church by Carol Clarke

With lovely weather on Sunday we went for another walk around our local area. Annesley Old Church, which was built in the 12th century, was on our route and was a convenient stopping off place for a rest. The Old Church stands alongside Annesley Hall, which was the home of the Charworths, later to be the Chaworth-Musters Family. The site has historical links not only with the family but with the poet Lord Byron and the author DH Lawrence too.Its a beautiful and (so long as you can ignore the nearby busy road) a peaceful spot to visit! lolBelow are 2 of my NEWEST On the Shelf Cards. Watch out for more Coming soon ... Just as soon as Ive drawn the characters! lol

Off To See Peppa by Joanna Swinton

It was a hot Sunday when we went off to see Peppa Pig and George. We drove to the railway station with a very excited Granddaughter Bella and her brother Kieran. The old steam train came. They were very excited. Off we went. It was very hot on the train journey. We got off and headed for a drink. Bella and Kieran were jumping up and down by now. We had a short walk to the tent and as we went in we could see George. Very soon Peppa came along. They both walked round greeting the children. Bella and Kieran waited for them to come round to where they were and they loved meeting them.

Memory Foam! by Sue Way

We had some old memory foam in the conservatory that we were throwing away, but our granddaughters Jessica and Imogen thought it was great fun and spent hours playing with it. First they rolled themselves up in it like sausage rolls, then they made a brilliant camp. Even Alfie had a look inside! Now we feel like we cant throw it away! Children have such great imaginations. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387I hope you love my Elegant Ladies as much as I do, these 2 are both on special offer at the moment at only 84p. Great value for a mini kit!

My own weekend OPEN DAYS by Joan King

Last weekend my husband and I decided we would have an OPEN DAY weekend for our arts and crafts. We have done this before and it went pretty well considering it is not a market. I advertised it in the local chronicle and made flyers up and distributed them in the local area which is vastly expanding due to rapid growth. I worked from 10 - 4 each day and we had a reasonable amount of people through. My husband managed to sell a couple of paintings and I did very well on my cards - although I must say as I have nowhere now to sell them and have around 500-600 or so cards I reduced them all dramatically to cost or below just to get rid of some. They are doing no good on my shelves. Sadly I couldnt sell one single 8 inch card. They just wont purchase them due to the cost of posting them. It was a perfect weekend weatherwise so couldnt complain at all. It was not as difficult as at a show as we were able to set it all up in our garage the day before so it took off a lot of the pressure. The photo below is of my card making items and a large proportion of my husbands paintings taken before we officially opened.
