Special Birthday Gifts by Sue Way

We celebrated our daughters (CUP designer Kelly Barker) birthday over the weekend by going out for a meal. While we were waiting for our food, we gave her her presents. I had made her a bag and purse set, which I finished weeks ago, and I was so excited to give it to her. She loved it!My husband has been teaching himself bookbinding, and he created a very special gift for her. A few years ago, she wrote a childrens book that she has only shared digitally with family. So, he printed it out and bound it into a physical book, just for her. I must admit, it brought tears to all our eyes as she opened it. It is truly a special gift.

People have been asking for smaller cards, so I have been adding lots of 6 Christmas card designs. Check under each one listed to see the others.

New Babies by Vicki Avcin

Spring is the season when we see all sorts of babies. Weve had magpies, butcher birds, rosellas, galahs, plovers and this year Bush stone curlews. Normally we will hear the curlews with their high pitched screech (sounds like a woman screaming) at night but normally dont see them with their babies. Last week we had mum and two babies right up near the house. Dad comes at night and early morning to steal the food thrown out for the magpies. Curlews are ground dwellers and often are hard to spot as they hide in long grasses or clumps of trees. They are nocturnal birds so for mum, bubs and dad to be up so close to the house in the morning is pretty cool. They normally have one to three eggs in their breeding season. One thing I didnt know, if something like another bird or a human gets too close they actually hiss. Weve only ever heard their screeching through the night. Check out all my Anniversary designs.

My … by Carol Clarke

… was my youngest daughter in law, Stephs graduation ceremony this week. She has worked so hard to get this, whilst juggling a job at Tesco and her two children too! Weve always bee been there for her though as an extra pair of hans plus collecting them from school and having then in school holidays too. In fact I fetched them from school on her graduation ceremony day too! lol. We couldnt be prouder of her and it meant her Mum and Dad could be there in person to see her graduate!

A Little Diesel in the Tank by Janice McFarlane

We have a new family member. He was totally unexpected but he has stolen everyones heart. He goes by the name of Diesel and is a Cocker Spaniel-Jack Russell cross. My daughter and family got their Wiermaraner Otto last year and an opportunity came a few weeks ago to add Diesel to the family. A lady was looking to re-home her seven month old puppy. Otto had already met Diesel previously and they seem to get on, so when the family came back from Finland they picked him up. He has fitted in wonderfully, Otto loves him and there have been no jealousy issues. Im looking forward to meeting him at Christmas.
