Early Birthday Present by Vicki Avcin

Hubby got me an early birthday present for my 70th birthday. Although my birthday isnt for a couple of weeks yet, we saw that Spotlight had a 50% off sale and they had machines listed. I actually have two machines already, mine has jammed up and the one Ive been using was my Mums which she used when dressmaking and was more suited to fine materials. All I seem to be using it for the last couple of years was to sew his jeans/pants up and it was a little difficult to do the heavy duty sewing. So when he asked me to take the waist of his work pants in I said buy me a new machine for my birthday that will handle the heavy stuff. So he did! This one is designed for heavy duty sewing but will handle the finer materials too. There were two models, this one and another that is the same bar it has a few extra fancy stitches. As I havent used anything other than a straight stitch and a zig zag for years, this one will do the job. Now I have no excuse to not fix his pants!!

This weeks designs are another two of my recently uploaded Swan designs.

New Topper! by Sue Way

Now the coronation is over I was excited to see what the new post box topper would be. I wasnt disappointed, its a fun one to celebrate the opening of the new attraction on the pier. The note says Looks like Nellie the elephants ancestor Manny the mammoth, has packed his trunk. But he wont be going to the circus, he is heading to Clacton pier to see the new Jurassic Pier Encounter. Opening May 27th 2023 It looks like all his friends have joined him too!

Cool weather by Amanda Assenbruck

-The cooler weather has set in here in the Southern Downs though mostly it is still nice with 18-20 degrees celcius during the days at the moment. Colder at night so the woodfire has been on. We have had our first frosts the other week ( one was a minus 5) which naturally shocked all the plants that were still enjoying the warm weather. We have just had a few rainy days that came out of nowhere. 73mm in 2 days! Mind you when El Nino starts up we will be trying to remember what rain is so....

Signs … by Carol Clarke

... Of Spring! At last the days are warming up and getting longer, but unfortunately that also brings the rain! Luckily the rain has its benefits too with all the lovely signs of spring in the hedgerows and verges along the footpaths and lanes that I love to walk along. Of course I have to dress appropriately and that often means waterproof over trousers, a waterproof jacket and not forgetting my waterproof hat and boots! lol Below are two of my Pop Out Word Card Kits ... There are lots more to choose from too! lol

The Skys the Limit by Janice McFarlane

Ive often wrote before of my love of the wonderful skies we sometimes get and sometimes the pictures the clouds form. I love a good sunset or even some of the wiered skies before, during or after a storm. Last Sunday was no exception to this. It had been a weird kind of day weather wise - brilliant sunshine, bit of rain, a smattering of thunder. I looked out the window at the back of our bungalow and we had a darker sky mixed with sunshine and a part rainbow which looked as though it was coming from the house opposite. My hubby had just walked through the front door and said we had a strange cloud formation. So I grabbed my camera and went to look and it was so different from the back, but there at the same time. They way the clouds had formed, they were quite low and it made me smile because it reminded me of the immense spaceship from Independance Day. I couldnt quite capture that, but its amazing the wonder of nature.
