Splash!!! by Janice McFarlane

I dont know about anyone else, but I hate hot weather. I like it being sunny but not the heat. Its a killer for me and my poor cat Bailey doesnt know where to put himself. We are just not used to these kind of temperatures in the UK and apparently the weekend will be even hotter. Children on the other hand seem to embrace it. Out come the paddling pools and lots of fun. My grandchildren are no exception to this. After school they have changed into their swimming gear, plastered the factor 50 on and jumped straight into the pool. Im amused by the sheer. Pleasure they get just from splashing about in the water, and my daughter was on hand to capture some great shots with the camera.

A Frosty Morning by Amanda Assenbruck

So it really is winter here now on the Southern Downs. This morning i awoke to find this very foggy, frosty day greeting me. People often ask me isnt it cold in Warwick and i usually reply only if the wind is blowing. Well we have had a bit of that but it just seems that it is very cold this year. I know some places have broken records for July, I dont know about here but i am certainly feeling the cold a lot more this year it seems.

A few of my new cards. I am into the pretty ones at the moment.

The ... by Carol Clarke

... Weather has been beautiful here in the English Midlands this week and its only served to highlight all the gorgeous wild flowers in and among the hedgerows and fields in our local area. The Bee Orchid has to be my favourite though. After espying my first Bee Orchids of the year a few weeks ago and then having found that the council had been an mowed them, I was delighted to find this solitary bee in among the woods in another local area. As its well off the trodden path Im hoping it will survive the fate of the others!! Below are 2 of my Kits featuring pretty lace .... Ive got lots more to choose from too! lol

My Happy Place by Vicki Avcin

Last Friday we had to take our Grandson to the airport for him to fly north to have a few days with his other Grandparents. Of course I wasnt going to miss going (Hubby couldve just taken him) so despite the freezing cold morning off we went. We got his bag checked in and went up through security to wait till he boarded. But the adrenalin kicked in as I saw all those planes and the runway with the take offs and landings. I just love watching them. After he boarded we went round to the skywalk to watch his plane taxi out but they switched runways and his plane was taking off on the new runway opened last year. It is quite a way from the terminals and not the best viewing as you dont see the planes till they have taken off and are climbing up over the top of the terminals. There is a viewing platform right up the end of the airport but this visit we didnt go up to that. Then on Monday back to the airport to pick the grandson up. I had tracked his flight and it was great to see his plane on approach. As the landing was on the new runway also we did actually see it touch down and by the time it got to the gate we had walked from the skyway to his gate. On take off its the rotate one doesnt see. Was a lovely couple of visits as I just love being at the airport and watching the planes of various sizes come and go………. Its my Happy Place. My daughter and I would go out to the viewing platform and spend a couple of hours watching when I used to visit. Now Im in Brisbane, we will be going back more often.

Well Done Jessica! by Sue Way

We are all so proud of our granddaughter Jessica. She had her last ever guides meeting this week and was awarded A LOT of badges and certificates. She worked so hard to complete badges at home and knew she was going to get her bronze award, but had a lovely surprise when she was handed her silver as well!! Well done Jess!
