Blooming Spring by Janice McFarlane

At last we seem to be getting some spring weather, a step nearer to the clocks springing forward and the beautiful blooms of daffodils, hyacinths and crocuses. Spring is my favourite season, it signifies to me new beginnings as the leaves on the trees start to appear, and shoots start to poke through the soil. The earth coming back to life. Where I live we dont have a garden as such, as we live in a retirement bungalo. We have a communal lawned area out the back and there are raised flower beds out the front of us, One of our neighbours likes to plant seasonal flowers among the plants already there, so it was lovely to start seeing the pretty colours of spring in the hyacinths and crocuses he planted. Amongst all the horrors of war going on at the moment, its nice to reflect on the beauty of spring.

Our first Goldie meet up! by Sue Way

Wow, what a wonderful walk we had last Sunday! We belong to a Golden Retriever Facebook group for our area and they arrange lots of meet ups over the year. This one was right on the beach where we live! Billy and Sam had a brilliant time. Sam loved playing with all the pups around his age and Billy discovered that people have sausages in their pockets lol All the dogs were so good and played so well together. Everyone was commenting on what a beautiful sight it was to see over 30 Goldens on the golden sand. Here is a picture of some of them with their owners. My end of month SALE starts next week so keep a look out for 20% off of all my designs!

Silver! by Vicki Avcin

Grandson Riley competed in the State Open competition in Taekwondo last weekend and so very proud of him as he came home with a Silver medal. He won his first fight and then was against someone who was in a higher grade in his next fight as there was no one in his class for his next fight. So to do so well is a credit to him. Seems it runs in the family as his Aunt held 3 Australian titles in 3 different types of martial arts a few years ago. He has been doing Taekwondo for about 3 years now and has managed to place in most of his competitions over that time as well as doing his gradings. He has to work on his cardio as these competitions call for several fights which can be tiring but his Dad was saying he doesnt do much exercise out of his classes. But being a teenager exercise isnt high on the list of things to do. He enjoys doing Taekwondo so it will be great to see how he goes in the future.
