Ive Bin Isolating by Vicki Avcin

I hope everyone is still sane while self isolating. Us Aussies can get up to some fun stuff when we have to amuse ourselves! Hervey Bay included, so much so that one lady decided that shed bin (been) isolating long enough and that shed start a on a popular social media group called Bin Isolation Outing. She got all dressed up and took a photo of her outing. Aussies jumped on board and posted funny photos putting the bin out. Soon the rest of the world saw the antics we were doing and started also joining in. Now people are doing videos of their Bin outing. ( We are only allowed here out for essential reasons like work, shops and exercising) People overseas find us amusing but love our sense of humour and its amazing to see just how the world has come together on the page. People have celebrated Birthdays, Anniversaries and theres even been a couple of Weddings and of course the Bin was there also. (Can only have 5 people at a wedding here, the bride and groom, the celebrant and 2 witnesses….. not sure if the bin counts as an extra!). Sadly there has been a few deaths too and people have come to share their story. One lady said she still had to put her bin out even though shed lost her Mum but she didnt have any costumes but wished she had. She asked if someone could do something so I dressed her in a fairy costume. The photo shows just a tiny few of the pics posted. If you want a bit of a giggle look up the page. Really will help with the boredom to have a look. Stay safe everyone.

This weeks designs can be used two ways as toppers or fold the base and use as rocker cards.

Schneckenpark = Snail park by Silvia Griffin

Yes a lot of people love Escargot especially Italians and the French. The French view cooked snails, also called escargot, as a delicacy and they like the taste of them. Reuters reported that the French eat about 30,000 metric tons of escargot yearly. The snails perform a water fast that lasts for three days before the farmers harvest them. They are then fed a week-long diet of water and flour for purification purposes. This is a picture of my Brothers Snail Farm in Switzerland. They crawl up the blanks at night and eat the cornmeal and the grass. Sometimes he has to mist them with some water if it gets to hot in the summer. In order not to let them escape there is a about 20- 30 cm mesh fence with has an electric low voltage wire on it. During the day they hide under the blanks and sleep. He sells them to restaurants and farmers markets. Either in a Glass sterilized or in the shell with herb butter so the customer just has to heat them up.

Have uploaded another 5 new Iris folding patterns besiedes these 2 which is

Its ... by Carol Clarke

... beautiful bluebell time again! Im sooo glad with all the Covid problems and restrictions that we are still allowed to go outside for exercise once a day as its such a beautiful time of the year in the woods near us at the moment! It would be such a shame to miss Outline using a black fineliner pen. Keep your marks loose & free & dont try to keep to just the painted areas on seeing them! Below are 2 of my Pretty Floral Easel Cards.

Easter Lockdown by Janice McFarlane

Well, its been a strange Easter in strange times. Thankfully, the current lockdown hasnt dampened the childrens spirits. My two grandchildren were still able to have some Easter fun, albeit limited to the house and garden. I am grateful my daughter takes so many pictures, so at least I can see what they have been up to. They still managed to do an egg hunt round the house and garden, make some delicious looking Easter nests, crafts, and relaxing in the sun. Also the RAF camp had a visit from the Easter Bunny, who had to stay a safe distance away, but it really lifted the childrens spirits. Harry the youngest is quite a character, and not being able to find his other sandal decided he would wear a sandal on foot and a wellie on the other. Perhaps a new fashion statement for 2021. I am so pleased that at this awful time we are all going through, there are ways and means of bringing a little normality to the situation.

Bluebells and Lily-of-the-Valley

by Clare Walker

Highlights of the week are a bit different these days. I had been missing the chance to visit a bluebell wood. But then (within just the radius of an exercise walk), I found these bluebells and lily-of-the-valley, even though were only about 4 miles from the very centre of London...And Im fairly certain I`ve never seen them at the end of that (very residential)street before. Seems that some silver linings exist, even in this situation. Stay safe and well, everyone x
