New Baby by Judy Potts

There has been so much excitement the past few weeks! My Step-Daughter had a healthy baby girl on Sept 10 at approx 10:15pm who weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces. She is just an adorable little thing who makes all kinds of funny noises in her sleep and just loves to be held! She is very much loved and I cannot wait to spoil her!

The Big 40 by Vicki Avcin

My second youngest son turned 40 on 17th September, and the occasion was celebrated on Saturday night with a party at their house. His beautiful wife organised it all with caterers and a band and lots of family and friends. Some of the family havent been together for a few years so it was fabulous to catch up and help Paul celebrate. The fact he actually made it is nothing short of a miracle really as throughout his life hes faced a few challenges which all couldve ended very differently. At 18 months old his older brother gave him a dog wormer capsule which gave him an ambulance ride and put him in hospital. Drs said they didnt know what problems might be caused long term as it was a very potent pill. It seems so far no residual effects. At 3 yrs of age he fell off a flying fox from 40ft up, landed flat on his face and yet broke nothing! (a kid from down the road took him up and didnt put him in the harness, just let him go and he couldnt hold on). At 15 yrs old he became very ill (with what I thought was a stomach bug), which put him in hospital with Drs scratching their heads because they said what they thought it was a 15 yr old male doesnt get. He ended up having his gallbladder removed a week later. He became a celebrity in the medical world as one of the youngest people to have it removed. Then 4 months ago he fell off a ladder while working at home and fractured his skull and had a bleed on the brain from which he is still recovering. So the fact that he made it after all those things (and a few lesser injuries) was definitely something to celebrate. The photo is him cutting his cake with the quote saying Aged to Perfection. Was a fabulous weekend and Im a very proud Mum to help him celebrate.

This weeks designs are two more from my Centre Cutout collection. A lovely wedding design and a Christmas design.

Victoria, BC, Canada by Judith Henry

We have been vacationing in the northern pacific coast of Canada, Washington and Oregon. I have been taking pictures in several gardens. I hope to use some of them in future popup cards. The weather has been challenging. Rain gear most days but it didnt dampen our spirits. Good food, wonderful company and an enjoyable time.

The start of the monthly birthday flower popup cards.

Notebooks by Susan Powell-Barton

I ordered some notebooks from Crafty Bob to give as stocking fillers. I have had such fun with them I wanted to share with you and maybe inspire some of you to do the same.As some of you may know I am having trouble with my eye sight at the moment, going stir crazy not being able to make cards without a great amount of concentration. Lines have a way of being curvy, very confusing. Any way, these little books have been my saving grace, I have even ordered some more to play with. Thank you to all you designers and crafters for so many delightful images in the gallery I love all your work. It is a wonderful time of year Autumn, Halloween and Christmas, gives me a plethora of images and colours to browse.

Silver ... by Carol Clarke

... Medalist! My youngest son Paul ran in our local towns 10k this week and came 2nd with a time of 33.37. This is just a year after having once again taking up running. He was a good runner when he was a teenager but was a sprinter specializing in the 400m. But life got in the way when he married and had 2 children so it was just a year ago when he took it up again by doing the local Park Run on a Saturday to keep fit. But he was amazed to find that he loved distance running and, as it turns out, is rather good at it! lol Below are 2 of my NEW Sleeps till Santa Cards. A great way to count down the days till Christmas!

Biddulph Gardens by Carol Dunne

AHhhh ! The sun came out after a miserable few days so we ventured forth to one of our favourite places, Biddulph Gardens near Stoke ( UK ) The dahlias and fuchsias were stunning but best of all I like the Chinese Gardens, shown here in the photograph. There is a small lake in front but unfortunately I couldnt fit it into my photo. A lovely place certainly worth a visit if you have not been.

A Visit to Teapot Island by Clare Walker

Teapot Island sounds like it should exist, if at all, in the pages of Alice in Wonderland, or a fairytale. In fact though, it *does* exist, in the River Medway in Kent, UK. And, it turns out, this tiny, tiny island (you walk to it over a bridge from the car park) is also home to a museum of almost 8,000 different teapots. From the Beatles, to kneeling elephants, to telephone boxes, to every kind of floral, glittery, geometric, massive, medium-sized, or miniature teapot you can imagine...If it`s possible in any way to fashion a teapot into a particular form, that form was represented in the Teapot Museum.I`d like to say I had lots of pictures of all those teapots. But, completely overwhelmed by 8000 pieces of whimsy, I realised all I`d come home with was this snap of some of their back-gate signage. Which was, of course, as you can see...teapot-shaped.

Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon

by Janice McFarlane

Last weekend, members of our church decided to go for a walk around Carsington Water, which is in the Derbyshire Dales. It was to be an eight mile walk around the reservoir with a picnic afterwards, weather permitting. Those of us who couldnt manage the walk could just come for the picnic. My husband and I were in the latter category, due to my severe arthritis, although he did offer to push me round in the wheelchair as it was accessible, but I thought it was just a little to far for him to do that. It was a beautiful afternoon, sunny with a warm gentle breeze and not a cloud in the sky. It was lovely just sitting, people watching and reading. Our daughter and family joined us too. As the happy and very weary wanderers arrived in dribs and drabs, they were exhausted, they did really well, especially the children and everyone had a lovely picnic and fellowship. We had never been to Carsington Water before, it is beautiful, with a lovely visitor centre with an ice cream parlour serving very delicious flavours. We would certainly go back ourselves and perhaps do a smaller tour of the reservoir.

Beautiful Pendant by Anne Lever

I love Jewellery. My now retired mum used to run a market stall selling silver and gold, and I have grown up with beautiful jewellery. I own a lot of silver items, pendants, rings, bracelets etc. This gorgeous silver pendant is my most recent purchase. I absolutely love it. The bit in the middle that looks grey is translucent, and looks like clouds when you shine a light through it. My sale starts today, including all of my many many bumper kits! Enjoy x
