A Time of Hope and Joy by Janyce Cotterill

Taking advantage of the warm Spring-like weather we have had recently, we headed up the Northumberland coast where there are plenty of long sandy beaches to stroll along whilst enjoying the fresh air and warm sunshine and blue skies. In the harbour there was lots of activity as the owners were painting and repairing their boats ready for the holiday season to start. It was all so very promising. The birds are singing and pairing up, the buds on the trees are bountiful and the daylight lengthening. My most favourite time of year by far. So much to look forward to. Spring - a time of hope and joy. Im leaving you with flowers for the whole year! Pick a month when a birthday is - and there is a flower and birthstone to go with it. The whole collection of flowers and birthstones designs are on special offer at the moment. Enjoy. Thank you for your interest.

Cormorant in Spring Sunshine by Clare Walker

Like a lot of people in the UK, hubby and I have been adoring the beautiful (and unseasonal) sunshine and warmth this week. We spotted this cormorant by the river Lea at Walthamstow Marshes. In the photo, it looks as if he is enjoying the sunshine. In fact, he was beating his wings, as if, even in February, he was feeling just a tad too hot and needed to fan them. But however he was feeling, it was lovely to see him, closer than either of us has ever seen a cormorant before.

Here are some of my newest designs, celebrating spring and summer events...

Red Arrows Visit by Tina Fitch

I had a visit to RAF Scampton last week, the home to the Red Arrow Display team. Firstly I went on the heritage tour but whilst we were on the tour we could hear jet engines starting. The guides had already said that as it was such a lovely day the reds were most likely going to fly and if we heard the engines we could go down and watch..Oh dear! That was the wrong thing to say to me, I just couldnt wait to get out the door LOL.. I was first on the flight line I can tell you, and it seem a real age before anyone else joined me hahahhaThis was red 8 on his return he decided to show off a little and continued to do a wheelie nearly all the way to the end of the runway! He was naughty but I was really excited to be so close so it didnt really bother me.. I enjoyed every minuet of it, infact so much so they had to pull me away to go back to the tour! Oh well roll on March I am off to NellisAFB for more jet noise!

Birthday Treat by Janice McFarlane

Last week we visited my daughter and grandchildren at RAF Benson once again during half term. Her husband is due home from Afghanistan in the next couple of weeks, so we were helping out and taking the children out. On the Saturday (23d Feb) it was my birthday. It was the first time I had spent my birthday with the grandchildren so they asked me what would I like to do. I love donkeys and there just happened to be a Donkey sanctuary about 4 miles from the camp, so that is where we went. There is 120 donkeys there so I was in my element. They were all friendly, the children loved it. We then went to a nearby park so the children could have a run around and then back home for some birthday cake. It was a lovely day and a special treat for me.

Two new kits which make up a beautiful Diary/Planner and Gift Bag. Also a third kit is available with additional accessories. Thank you for looking.

Our night visitors by Vicki Avcin

We get all sorts of wildlife visiting at night time from the kangaroos, possums, owls, heaps of geckos, green frogs and suspect there is a koala or two as we can hear the grunts but one of my favourites is the praying mantiss that seem to like resting on our front screen door. The other night this little mantis was there and I always get them to climb on my hand. This little fellow was a bit different to the usual green and brown ones we see and although the picture doesnt really show its true colour it was more white than anything. It was out front until we went to bed, and I was a bit worried because the geckos usually will try and grab them and have a good feed. This one was still there in the morning but had moved down to the holder that I put the citronella sticks in. It hung around all day, with several more nurses on my hand and again was there when I went to bed that night. By the next morning he had gone. Quite unusual to see them stick around so long as they either get eaten or fly off over night. How cute is it? I love these little fellows….do you?

My promoted items this week are a whale theme card from my Pop Up Layer designs and a gorgeous purple lisianthus DL design

Look .... by Carol Clarke

... At me Nana!! For once the Half Term Holiday from school here in the Midlands coincided with some lovely weather and we packed our picnics and headed for Clumber Park. First stop was to the woods for some tree climbing, then a nice sunny stroll to see the ducks on the lake, followed by a spot of sport on the sports field including football, tennis, cricket and skipping (and lots of laughter! lol) and the obligatory stop at the woodland play park and ice creams ... of course!! All too soon our lovely trip out was over and we had 2 sleepy grandchildren in the back of the car, and some more lovely memories of a great day out!! Below are 2 of my NEW Mothers Day Treat box Designs ... Watch out for more coming soon!

New Life by Nadege Burness

A few weeks ago I realized a Black Collared Barbet was busy hollowing out the stump of the Cordyline tree not far from my bedroom window, for nesting purposes . There is now a , not so little , baby and he is very inquisitive and hungry all the time ! He is so cute when he sticks his head out the hole . It is amazing to witness how hard the dad works to feed and clean out the nest . The way the little beak of the baby opens wide in anticipation of the next meal is just so adorable . I count myself very lucky to have these beautiful birds in my garden , a true Blessing that I am very thankful for .

Ancestry Connection... by Janice Shehan

I was contacted by a woman on Ancestry.com. She found my family tree including my husbands. Apparently 40+ years ago, she was unfortunately given up for adoption. She had her DNA tested and found she was a close match to my husband, (Uncle). She had been looking for her biological parents for years and they had been looking for her as well. After careful verification and photos, the parents and long lost daughter were connected! She will really be able to celebrate St. Patricks Day this year, she has red hair just like ALL her relatives!!A very, very happy ending to this amazing story! Thanks for stopping by.

Rough times by Joan King

As many of you know already I had a nasty accident and shattered my arm and wrist. After many days in hospital I had surgery to have plates and screws put in to hold all the pieces together. 3 casts later and I am in still in chronic pain but mainly from the cast rather than the injury itself. It is ill fitting and spins on my arm. I have been a one finger typist since then. I am hoping i can get through the next week when all going well the cast should come off. They have said it could be up to 6 months before I get full use of the arm back again although no guarantees on the full bit...... It hasnt helped that we have had a heatwave for 2 months every day with temps over 30 degrees. This is a photo of me in the latest cast.

I won! by Sue Way

A friend of my daughter recently opened a lovely boutique called Joy in their little seaside town. She is a lovely Thai lady who always looks immaculate and beautifully dressed and her shop reflects this. I like to try to help small business so often share her shops Facebook page. A few weeks ago she ran a competition to win a pretty handbag. All you had to do was like and share the picture on Facebook and tag a few local friends. A lot of small business on Social Media to this to get seen. I, of course, wanted to help. A little while later I found out that I had won! Here are the girls with Joy collecting my bag. I wish her every success in her new venture. Here are a few of my new series of cute little ladies, doing activities that they love. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387
