A Last Look... by Janyce Cotterill

Here are the final pictures of our whistle stop tour of North Cornwall last month. Beautiful Bude - and indeed it was beautiful. A scorching hot day in early October had people heading for the beach, surfing and swimming and soaking in the final rays of late summer sun. Pretty Padstow was brimming with tourists, a busy little place that left me wanting to go back to explore more. Finally bonny little Boscastle with the quaint harbour and terrific scenic walks. I can see why Cornwall is so popular, she draws you into her beauty and she gets under your skin like not many other places do. Its magical. Im leaving you with some canine friends this week, and there were dogs aplenty jumping in and swimming in the sea at Bude! These however have Christmas on their minds - as most of us do now, as we start becoming preoccupied with all the preparation that the festive season brings. Not long to go!

Swimming Lesson by Joan King

I took my grand daughter for a swimming lesson today as her mum had an interview to attend. She told me where to go and what do and when etc as I had never been there before and she is only 3. We waited at the side of the pool for her teacher to arrive for her lesson but she never came and that was it. The poor lady who was standing in for her didnt know what hit her. Brooklyn was having none of it. She wanted her teacher and nobody else and the more they tried to encourage her to go in the more upset she got. In the end they suggested if she wanted to she could go into the childrens pool at the other side of the centre and re book for another lesson. I never got to see her do anything but she did go into the other pool and it was empty so she loved it. Then it was time to go and we had to go to the park outside. It exhausted me pushing things around, up, down etc for about 45 minutes and then off to the cafe for a fluffy boiled and fluffed up milk with chocolate on it and marshallows. She seemed to have commanded everyones attention with her attempts to drink it and so much got on her face, forehead and around the eyes and it wouldnt wipe off. I couldnt hide that from her mum!!!!!! Anyway I got a couple of photos of her in the swimming pool and she was loving it even if it wasnt her lesson she went for.

There are 3 so far in this series and they are multi-linked to together. You can use as much or as little of the decoupage as you wish or make the main card with just the topper and insert.

Tokyo by Sue Way

My son is an actor and at the moment he is in Tokyo, Japan for about 6 weeks of filming. He has a lot of down time and so is taking in the wonder of this great city. He is posting pictures on social media every day for us all to enjoy the amazing places he is visiting and all the weird and wonderful food he is eating. He really is soaking up the culture. It was very hard to choose one picture to share with you as he has been to so many interesting places, including Robot Restaurant, a Tokyo flea market, a bar called Deathmatch in Hell, a Religious centre called Sensō-Ji, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), a cat cafe! Tokyo Tower and so much more. I am sure he will share more of his adventures, what a great experience. Here is the Tokyo Metropolitan Gov Building, Tokyo Sky Tree and Tokyo from the 45th floor. As Christmas is fast approaching I thought you might need some quick, but unusual cards, so have made some new box cards. I am also adding lots of new pinch bags and money wallets over the coming days. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Goodbye Australia by Vicki Avcin

Well sadly our cousin and her travel companion has had to say Goodbye to Australia after an amazing 3 weeks. Flying from Vancouver to Sydney and then a connecting flight to Hervey Bay, it was wonderful to see hubbys cousin again, (her second trip to Oz) and meet her friend and neighbour from home. They spent a few days here with us before we drove them to Brisbane where they stayed with my daughter and her partner for 2 days before heading down to the Gold Coast and catching up with hubbys two brothers and their wife and partner. They wanted to experience backpacker living so stayed in a hostel for 3 nights, then bussed it down to Byron Bay. They stayed in another hostel there, spent hours down on the beach and mixing it with the locals. Byron Bay is known for its hippy and surfing lifestyles. They mixed it with the best of them, dancing on the beach at sunset and some long walks around town and along the beaches. Time then to head back to Brisbane for two nights where they were taken out to spend the day at Lone Pine where they both fulfilled a lifetime ambition to nurse a koala. They fed and patted kangaroos and dingoes and loved meeting the Aussie wildlife. A tour round the city of Brisbane and Southbank and a trip up the river on the City Cat (water ferry). Then back to Hervey Bay for the last week where they shopped till they dropped. They love our stores and how much cheaper things are, and discovered things that they dont have back home. We drove them round various places to see and again back to our glorious beaches where they loved walking along the waters edge. Then all too soon it was time to pack. I was intrigued how they were going to get all their souvenirs (toy koalas, kangaroos, crystal engravings, and all the other stuff they brought) plus all the cant get back home items into their suitcases till I said I think they need the vacupak bags. Well even with those it was a struggle to get the cases done up. So last night it was off to the airport to an overnight stay with my daughter in Brisbane, and fly out to Vancouver this morning. So sad to say goodbye to them. Fabulous to meet the cousin again and lovely to meet her friend who is now adopted family. A gift of a desert rose (that Ive been wanting for a while) will leave a lasting memory of their visit.

My cards this week are aperture designs where you can put a little pocket in the aperture and fill with lollies, money, pot pourri. There is a tutorial in the tutorial section in my store. Also many more of these designs available too.

Creepy Crawley(s) by Janice McFarlane

My grandson Alfie is always up for a challenge. He will have a go at most things. When he was at a birthday party last week, rather than the usual entertainment they had someone bring in some exotic animals for the children to have a look at and hold if they wanted to. So Alfie was quite excited to see all these creatures up close and personal and had a go at handling everything. I dont know how my daughter managed to take the picture of Alfie holding the Tarantula as she is terrified of spiders, she cant bear to look at them. When I asked her she said I closed my eyes and hoped for the best. well she did a pretty good job I think. I dont think Alfie was too sure about the snake around his neck, but he has informed his mum he wants a pet Tarantula. I dont think thats going to happen somehow! The main thing Alfie and the children enjoyed the experience. Just a note Alfies surname is Crawley hence the title. (Well I thought it was funny!)

Tis the season..... by Anne Lever

Tis the season I have been waiting for all year, the cold season, the time when my local pub lights a fabulous roaring open fire at 8.30 in the morning. I sit by the fire, read my kindle and drink many cups of their refillable coffee. Heaven! I watch it being made, and as someone who has never had an open fire at home, it is a fascinating process, with every person doing it differently. Bring on the snow.....

Monty stops crafting by Suzi Cooper

For the past 3 weeks I have been ploughing my way through order for Christmas cards from my regular customers. Everytime I think I am getting to the end of them my email pings & another order arrives. I have to fit it the cardmaking along with playing lawn bowls here in Spain. I have also done 4 crafts sales with another 2 over the next weekend. While I craft my male cat sleeps in the second computer chair but the other day he got up onto the desk and walked along to me. He then decided that laying on me would mean he got cuddles as it would stop me crafting. He spent 30 minutes snuggling before he decided it was time to eat and I could get back to crafting. At least his sister prefers just to sleep on the bed.Good job I love him.

PIERRE IABIALDE THE KING OF THE BAYONNE HAM by Wanda Lipski

And thats him in the photo standing underneath the hams that will be sold in 6 months time, after a long, long process of curing that is brilliantly explained by the owner of this iconic business in the centre of Bayonne. Its all about time and giving the hams the time necessary to become a really spectacular product. The tour is brilliant marketing too, as it ends with a tasting of his hams, saucissons and patés which evidently leads to a plethora of sales from the shop as people leave. Whats more, he was a really nice guy, interesting and obviously a lover of his good food. Right in the centre of the town, its worth a visit should you drop by that way. This week Im offering up my latest upload, designed as a tree present for my sister-in-law as it is both a card and a present all in one. Post-it cards. Lovely to pop beside the phone. ENJOY and have a good week.
