Visit to China by Lyn Simms

I have just returned with my husband from a trip of a lifetime. We spent two weeks touring parts of China and then cruised the China seas on the 4th largest cruise ship in the world. We stopped off at a small Japanese island, Taiwan, Hong Kong three stops in Vietnam and finished up in Singapore where we caught our first of three flights home. The Chinese people were on their national holiday and this meant that there were crowds everywhere. The countryfolk do not often come across western faces or long noses as we are called and so many of them wanted to pose with us for photographs. It almost felt like we were famous! We were able to visit Tiananmen square, The Great wall of China and the panda conservancy in Xian to name but a few places of interest. In Vietnam we learned a little of their culture and watched someone making edible rice paper and also how they distilled rice wine. Both of these occupations are cottage industries made in the homes of local peopleI must say it was lovely to visit all these places but it was very tiring and now it is good to be home again.

These files are simple to mke but creat stunning cards suitable for all your friends and family.

Double Rainbow by Gillian Hutchinson

We have had some cold and wet weather this week. Heating is back on and wellies have been dug out of the cupboard. Not long after we had one of the rain showers we looked out of the living room window and saw the double rainbow. It never lasted long before another downpour came, but while it was there it was a beautiful sight.

The Cutest Gruesome Twosome by Janice McFarlane

My two grandsons Alfie and Harry love to dress up and of course Halloween is no exception. Alfie wanted to be a zombie pirate and looked even more scary having recently lost his front two baby teeth.and Harry was a little monster. (His mum would say this literally lol). It was Harrys first time trick or treating and Alfie took him round with their mum and friends in tow. Their buckets were filled with treats. Which Im sure they will enjoy if their mum doesnt get there first.

Two of my latest kits, both have beautiful scenes inside the exploding box which can light up using LED T-Lights.

Royal Buzz by Vicki Avcin

October 24th saw our town buzzing with the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex landing in town. Their plane touched down at the airport about 5 mins up the road from where we live. We saw it fly over and waved madly as it approached the airport to land. We get a pretty good view of most of the planes as they fly over about 500 to 1000 feet (can even see the people depending on which way they approach the runway. Then while they were disembarking, it was in the car and down to the end of the road to watch the motorcade go past on their way to the barge. We didnt know at this stage that Meghan had been taken elsewhere and wasnt with Harry on the Fraser Island 4 x 4 bus. We found out shortly afterwards when people came from the airport where theyd hoped to catch a glimpse of them. Harry went over to Fraser Island on our local barge a trip of about 45mins to Woongoolba landing. From there he went in the bus over the sandy tracks to a couple of ceremonies where he was given a warm welcome by the Butchella people, traditional owners of the land, then it was out on one of the whale watching boats to see the last of the whales for the season, overland again to the beautiful Lake Mackenzie where he kicked off his shoes and paddled in the pristine water. Meghan went directly over to Kingfisher resort on one of the other whale watch boats, a bigger faster boat than the barge where she rested while Harry was off doing his thing. In the afternoon they both did a meet and greet along the jetty before going back to one of the luxury houses where they stayed overnight. They then came back to the mainland on one of the faster whale boats where they headed to the airport to fly direct to Fiji. Although we didnt meet them, it was fun to be part of the buzz and excitement to see them in town.

My two cards this week are two more of my DL Trifold cards recently uploaded. One a lovely Christmas design and the other a gorgeous apricot rose which has a vintage feel to it.

Christmas Toy by Janet Roberts

I took my little dog Millie to Vets4Pets for her yearly booster and check up yesterday. The young vet who came from the US made a real fuss of her and gave her lots of kisses and cuddles. She passed her health check with flying colours and was really good when he gave her an injection. On the way out through the store she stopped and helped herself to a grunting Christmas pig. I took her to the till to pay for it much to the amusement of the staff and other shoppers

Kathy Ann Stone - 1st British Lady Santa - Wow!! by Kathy Ann Stone

As a child I never knew what Christmas was, I was excluded from all the things that most children enjoy about Christmas. It was not due to religion, It is a long story which I do not want to share......So when anyone asked me what did I want to be when I grew up, I replied Santa Clause . I read all about Father Christmas in the library, where I spent most of my time. I had always been into crafts since a very early age, It was all I knew. Making things from cerial boxes and old newspapers. When I was finally able to be alone I made lots of things from nothing and gave them to people who had nothing. I never wanted anyone to be sad at Christmas like I was. So I set about the task of making it happen for those who wanted to feel the magic of Christmas. Every year I would make 12 rag dolls, dress them in Christmas outfits and give them to Causes who would Auction them to raise funds towards whatever it was they needed help with. My dolls raised Thousands as most of them gained £1000 each. It made me happy. Then two years ago I wrote a book entitled, You have to believe in Santa. It was also the year that I declared official status as the 1st British Lady Santa. Then a strange thing happened. I was on facebook at the time and someone told me about an organisation in Florida USA that was called Believe in Santa Foundation, A non profit organisation that visits children all year long, for some December would be too late. This is because Some of the Children are dying and others may be caught up in a tragedy where they need their mind taken off a terrible thing that has devastated their little lives. The Believe in Santa foundation has Santas all over, doing these great works in their own time and for no reward. So I contacted The founder Keith Carson (seen in the picture) and told him that I would be pledging a good percentage of income from the sale of my book to help in his work and that I would begin to follow in his footsteps in the UK. So He sent me this certificate. The book is not yet published and the work is still in front of me But I am so looking forward to getting stuck into this 2019. The believe in Santa foundation are also building a real North Pole in the USA for Children to visit. They have lots of support and it will never be enough. I wanted to share this with you because I am so proud to be able to make a difference as a human being. And I feel so blessed that Craftsuprint have accepted me as a designer on this space. Support in any form works both ways for me. My moto has always been Make it happen, So that is what I am going to do, I have a personal fund raising situation to take care of right now but when I am done with that I have some really great plans to really make a difference. I will keep you updated on my 2019 adventures.

Billy is 6 Months Old! by Sue Way

My goodness, where did the time go! I cant believe our puppy will be 6 months old in a few days. He is starting to fill out and get his Golden coat, but he is also being cheeky and pushing the boundaries lol This week we bought him a big new bed, which has plenty of room to grow into. I will try to take a new comparison picture next week, but am not sure if I can still pick him up! Watch this space. This week I have added lots more Christmas designs. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Birthday treat by Carol Dunne

It was my birthday last weekend so my husband booked lovely evening meal and an overnight stay in a Chester hotel. Chester is knee deep in history. The hotel we stayed at has foundations dated back to 12 hundred and something. It was described as a new building in 1633. Now thats what you call old. We asked if it was haunted and told that it was but not in our room.

Open Weekend by Joan King

Well its that time of year and we have just had our Open Day Weekend. My husband and I do this together me with all my finished cards, Christmas crackers, bookmarks etc and he is an artist so he has a lot of artwork on display not all shown in the photos. We had our best weekend ever since we started doing them and my husband sold 4 large paintings plus got a commission for a large one as well for Christmas. I on the other hand had a massive clear out of cards for every occasion and sold some crackers, bookmarks etc. I was thrilled but we have two markets on this weekend now, one on Saturday and another one off market on Sunday so stock is on the thin side. Its the busiest time of the year so you expect this. I also have a large card order of the really fancy cards to do for someone (20 of those) plus another order for a lady who wants more done of her first order. I am going to be rushed of my feet. Wouldnt have it any other way though.
