Liverpools Twin Culture by Janyce Cotterill

Liverpool city is twinned with Shanghai in China. A few month ago my son worked over in Shanghai, so when we visited Liverpool recently we had to visit an exhibition which was on at the time, This is Shanghai. It showcased some of Chinas best contemporary artists. This neon light installation is called, A Bunch of Happy Fantasies by artist Shi Yong. It certainly was a blaze of colour! As this community news has an orange glow about it, I thought Id continue it on with two of my designs which also carry on the colour theme too! Thank you for your interest.

A walk around my garden with my little Granddaughter by Helen Howell

My granddaughter came for a visit the other day, she is now 23 months old and on the go all the time, but such a delight to see. I decided to take her on a little adventure around my garden. She loves being outside and everything was of interest to her. She stopped off at the pond to stare at the goldfish, I wonder what she was thinking. She took a tour around the flower beds, examining and touching the brightly coloured flowers. She found the lemon tree and we picked a big lemon for her to take back inside to her mummy. We also picked a few bluebells that were supposed to be for her mummy, but she was determined to sit down and examine them and see how well they stood up to being bashed against the brick path. Such fun to watch, everything is new at this age and holds a wonder.

School Holidays by Vicki Avcin

The September school holidays finish this week (2 weeks) and trying to keep the kids busy is always fun. These holidays saw the shopping centre in Townsville put on a Jurassic Park with life size dinosaurs and the kids could decorate/paint a 3D dinosaur. So our son and daughter in law took our grandkids down to have a look. Bella was not impressed with the roaring and the movement until it was explained to her that the brontosaurus only ate plants and never people. Even then she was a little hesitant but they managed to get her to stand just long enough for a photo but she much preferred the painting. She kept a safe distance from all the other dinosaurs. Nathaniel was OK with it all and baby Clay well, he just slept through the whole experience.

These are just two of the many sets of tags I have in my store. Both of these are Christmas themed in traditional colours but I also have non traditional colours as well.

Afternoon Tea on a Steam Train by Mary MacBean

Last week was my birthday, so my daughter treated me to afternoon tea on the Strathspey Steam Railway. The train travels from Aviemore to Broomhill which is also known as Glenbogle, the fictional name for the station in the TV series, Monarch of the Glen. My daughter, granddaughter, 4 year old great-granddaughter Niamh and myself enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in a first-class compartment. The Highland scenery was at best with the sun shining through the autumn-coloured trees and fabulous views across the glen. I love steam trains, so this was very special. As birthday treats go, this one would be difficult to beat.

These are 2 of my Stacked Layers Card mini kits. They are simple to make, but have lots of depth.

Autumn by Anne Lever

Autumn is well and truly on its way. We have had wind and storms, the nights are drawing in and it is getting much colder. It will soon be gloves and hats time. The leaves are starting to turn, especially on this gorgeous acer. Most of the year it is a gorgeous apple green colour, but within the last week it has changed to reds, oranges and yellows. In the bright sunlight it looks like it is on fire. Beautiful!

Red Squirrels Were Everywhere... by Clare Walker

A few weeks ago, I fulfilled a life-long dream, of seeing red squirrels in their natural habitat, scampering around freely. Before this point, Id seen them, but usually only fleetingly, and/or beset by over-eager observers (of which, I admit, I was one). But our trip to the little hamlet of Forest How, in Cumbria changed all that. Here, they were scampering around, playing in the woods, and even peering in as we were eating our breakfast. It`s not often that a trip sounds amazing as you plan it...and then turns out to be even better. Thank you Forest How, and the cute red squirrels.

In celebration, here are a couple of my more squirrelly items...

Rock Art by Carol Clarke

Most of the beaches we visited on holiday were totally devoid of sand but there were thousands and thousands of the most beautiful rocks and pebbles. To get to the shoreline was often a bit of a scramble down steep narrow paths but it was soo worth it. Of course no sand meant no sandcastles - not that Id taken a bucket and spade! lol - but I did try my hand at building a rock tower. Unfortunately whilst we were there it was rather windy with gusts up to 59 mph and most of my castles fell before I could take a good photo so this is what was left of the best of them! lol Below are 2 of my newest designs ... Watch out for more ... COMING SOON!!

An Illuminating Day Out by Janice McFarlane

A fortnight ago a small group from the church I attend set off for Blackpool. We were going to the Festival of Hope at the Winter Garden Theatre. The guest speaker would be Franklin Graham (son of the late evangelist Billy Graham) He had a message of Hope not only for Lancashire but the whole of UK. There were around 4,000 in attendance and it was amazing, with fantastic music from the Christian Group Rend Collective. Whilst we were there the famous Blackpool Illuminations were on, and as we came out of the theatre the tower was lit up. We didnt get home until the early hours of Sunday morning, but all in all it was a very illuminating day out.

Halloween by Diane Hannah

Its October, time to decorate for Halloween. This photo was taken at my friends house. She has been my best friend for for over thirty years. All of our children have grown up and have their own lives now, but she still decorates for every holiday. Betty goes all out with decorating. She decorates inside her home, and I mean every room! She decorates outside. Lights, wreaths, and free standing decor. For me decorating the house for holidays is a thing of the past. I just dont have the energy for all of the set up and putting it all away anymore. Now I enjoy looking at photos of her house! haha

Bowls & Cardmaking combined by Suzi Cooper

Over the last almost 3 weeks I havent had much time for crafting as I have been organising (and playing in) the Valencian Bowls Championships. These finished on Tuesday with the finals followed by the presentations. The local newspaper who sponsor the event came along to take photos and I was messing about waiting for the presentations to start – little did I know that he had taken a photo of me. Very flattering – NOT.I can now get back to doing my cardmaking although I still have to fit it in with league bowling. On Sunday I have organised an Autumn Fair with almost 20 stalls, including my cards but true to form I am actually bowling in a competition at the same venue on the same day! Luckily, I have a good friend who combines looking after her stall with looking after mine too – thank goodness.I am showcasing 2 Christmas designs – one by Janet Briggs and the other by Janice McFarlane.

Spring Green Wisconsin - Taliesin by Judith Henry

This past week end we were in Spring Green for a week end of seeing plays at the American Players Theater. It was a cold event since the theater is outside. I told the kids just pretend we are going to a football game. We bundled up and had a great two days. While there we toured Taliesin, home of Frank Lloyd Wright. My son and girl friend are both architects. It was interesting to see how they reacted to this historical building.

Billy is 5 Months Old! by Sue Way

Well, here it is, as promised, the latest comparison picture. Billy now weighs 20kg so I dont know how much longer I will be able to pick him up. I will keep trying though and hubby will just have to get quicker at taking the picture lol Even I am surprised by how much he has grown in the last month. He has legs like a giraffe! In celebration of his 5 month non-birthday, I have added a couple of designs featuring Billy and my old Goldens Abbey and Alfie. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Chicks Dig Me! by Sandie Burchell

I love this picture that my Daughter just sent to me of my Grandson, Bryn, now 11 weeks old! The comment on his tee-shirt complements his expression perfectly! He is now giggling out loud and beginning to take notice of everything. My Daughter keeps me up to date with videos etc. but I cant wait until I can go and see him again in person!
