Old Town Edinburgh and Harry Potter

by Janyce Cotterill

Edinburgh, particularly the old town, holds many steps, small narrow streets and a whole lot of history. We had recent day trip there and here are a few photos from the visit. The top two are views from taken from the steep steps and hidden streets youll stumble across in the capital of Scotland. The lower two are from the graveyard of Greyfriars Kirk, a must visit for any Harry Potter fans. This graveyard is supposed to have inspired JK Rowling with many of her characters for her famous books. Nearby is the cafe where it is said she wrote her opening chapters of Harry Potter. So if you are are up in Edinburgh, check out the tours they do of the graveyard, its a little tourist hot spot ! Im leaving you with a couple of my latest verse designs, which are on special offer at the moment. I hope you like them. Thank you for your interest.

1st time Grandma by Julie Hill

You may have guessed by the title but I have found out I am going to be a grandmother for the first time.To say I am over the moon is an understatement. My eldest son and his girlfriend broke the news to me by sending me this scan picture in facebook messenger.I am sure the next door neighbours heard my screeching like a madwoman. Now is it just me or does the scan picture look like there are two faces ?I mentioned this to my son and his girlfriend and they agree and will be mentioning it to the midwife and who knows there may be twins.I of course and keeping everything crossed lol

With the above news I had to if course include a baby design in my new 3D pop up box card kits.I have more designs in my store if you would like to take a look :)

Grandkids Visiting by Diane Hannah

So far this has been a great summer. Last week we had three of the grandchildren visit for a week. It was such a busy time. They had such a good week. We kept them so busy, there was no time for them to get homesick. We went bowling, and much to my surprise, they bowled very well! We went to the beach, swimming, fishing, and paddle boating. We took them home yesterday, totally exhausted! It was as fun for my husband and I, as it was for them. This week we will have an older grandson for a week! Ill let you know how this week goes soon.

Damsel & Dragonflies... by Clare Walker

It`s amazing that something so small can be so spectacular. In this case, I`m talking about damsel and dragonflies, which we were lucky enough to watch in their several hundreds one afternoon last week, by a lake/very large pond in Epping Forest.Individually, they were, literally, shining examples of fast, manoeuvrable flight. So fast, in fact, that I despaired of getting anything like a good photo of them. Until one damselfly was most obliging, and landed on my husband`s T-shirt (as you can see in the picture).Collectively, they were a stunning, shimmering and enchanting wonder. Yet the strangest thing of all was that this all still took place within Greater London. And out of that city of 10 million people, we were the only people watching this. Which seemed like a miracle in itself.

So this week, Im promoting my Dragonfly mini-kit. Hes on designer discount June 27th-30th 2018, along with my new Ice Cream on the Beach, cards sheets, and all my other items. Happy making!

No Lost Shoe for Cinders.

by Janice McFarlane

My youngest granddaughter Evie started dance classes last year. She has done really well and in her first exams a couple of months ago got a distinction in her ballet. This led to her dance teacher asking her mum if Evie would like to do a ballet solo in competitions. Evie was thrilled but quite nervous, she is shy by nature so we werent sure how she would react to being on stage on her own in front of an audience. She practiced very hard once her dance was set, at the studio and at home. Her character was to be Cinderella. Last weekend was her first competition, she was fine on stage and danced beautifully and Cinders didnt loose her shoe or forget her dance. We are so proud of her achievements.

Two of my latest kits now available, both with a fantasy theme and Hanging Hearts Trios to match. Thank you for looking.

Bigger Than My Hand by Vicki Avcin

My plants mustve loved all the rain weve had the past couple of months. Would you look at these beauties! This yellow hibiscus is bigger than my hand. It is nearly the size of a dinner plate and there were several flowering at once. The double red hibiscus always look stunning but these too came out in giganticsizing. The bush looked fantastic. The purple hibiscus was also considerably larger than what it normally produces too. So the big drink from all the rain has definitely benefited them all. All these bushes are over 15 years old and Im not a great gardener so firstly the fact that they are still growing and producing is a miracle but secondly to see just how huge these magnificent flowers are is awesome. I might need to tend them and see what else they can produce!

My items this week are cards taken using photos of my hibiscus. Put Hibiscus into the search in my shop and see others too.

THINK FAST ... PREVENTING STROKE

by Wanda Lipski

Think FAST and dial the emergency services. Unfortunately weve had just such a crisis here in Panissières so Im sharing with you all the signs that should tell you that something is not quite right .... If you get to the hospital quickly enough, those lovely little drugs they'll pump into you will break up any blood clots and turn a potentially drastic stroke into a transient ischaemic attack. Dont we just love that word transient.. ? Much better. So ... odd sensations in the face, odd sensations in an arm, difficulty to find your words and call the emergency services. Consequently Ive not been very design active this week, so Ive dug out a couple of get well cards ... So have a good week, ENJOY and think FAST

Look .... by Carol Clarke

... At Me Nana!! We have been enjoyng some lovely weather here in the Midlands and this weeks Nana Day (as our grandchildren call it! lol) was no exception. So after picking our youngest grandchildren up from school we, of course!, headed top the local park. Three yeear old Austin just loves climbing and as far as hes concerned its - the higher the better! I must admit to getting a few lumps in my throat at how adventurous he is at such a young age .... But his parents are happy to let him explore his own limitations ... and Im glad to say that so far hes only suffered a few bruises! lol

Our first family holiday

by Lauren C. Waterworth

I finally had some time away from my computer screen as we went on our first holiday as a family since the birth of Baby W. We spent a lovely five days in Skegness on the East English coast doing nothing but swimming, playing outside, running on the beach and admiring the local wildlife - Baby W confirms that his favourite animals are... Tractors! I think we have introduced him to a life long hobby of posting coins into the 2p machines - he even managed to win himself some prizes but was more concerned with making sure those coins were put directly back into the machines... even if it wasnt one that we were playing on.We have come home completely exhausted... when is the next holiday?!

Sorrento, Italy by Carol Dunne

A few months ago we had to cancel our holiday because we thought my husband had appendicitis. After a few weeks of tests they decided it was a virus. To make up for this we booked another holiday to Sorrento, Italy. We drove down the Amalfi coast on a bus which was quite scary with all the bends and shear drops. Then had a lovely boat trip back. What a beautiful scenic coastline. If you look at my photograph you can see Mount Vesuvius in the background.

Nearly Time! by Sue Way

As I write this we are counting down the hours before we go to pick up our new little bundle of fluff. Our new Golden Retriever puppy Billy will be coming home very soon. Ill be sharing all of our adventures together, just as I did with darling Alfie. Our lovely breeder said he is already a little character who loves cuddles and barks if they ignore him lol She also sent me this wonderful picture of Billy with his mummy and daddy. I wonder if he will be light like mum or dark like dad? Lots of new sweet little ladies in my store this week and everything is on SALE till the end of the month with 20% off! http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

Our First Grandchild! by Mary Jane Harris

Our first Grandchild, a baby girl named Aislynn Rose, was born yesterday (6-26-2018). My husband and I are so happy to be first time Grandparents. They sent us pictures this morning, and she is a precious little angel. Her Mommy and Daddy are very happy, but also very tired. Baby Aislynn and her Mommy will be going home sometime today. My son and daughter-in-law have a gorgeous nursery all set up for her at home. We live about a 15 hour drive away from them, so we wont get to actually see the baby until later this summer. So, now I have a new title... Im now Gam Gams to my new Granddaughter!

Red Sky at Night by Gillian Hutchinson

Last week we made a trip back to London to catch up with friends and family. The night before we left, I saw a lovely sunset while watering the garden. I was pleased to see it was red as I knew there would be some great weather the next day for our journey. We left so early that it was misty buy thankfully cleared by the time we were halfway there. Needless to say, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day.
