Heffalumps by Nadege Burness

We live about an hours drive away from a National Park and ever so often we go their to relax and unwind . I love to watch the Elephants and their antics ... never a dull moment when they are near ! The little ones really provide so much entertainment and often have us in fits of laughter . Also a few scary moments for me when the Elephants are close by . I love photographing Wildlife and Nature and feel very fortunate to be able to visit the Park to get away from the hustle and bustle . Seeing all the animals and breathing in the fresh air really is good for body , mind and soul . It is so sad that poachers are always looming ... today after leaving the Park we drove straight into a shootout where Rangers were firing shots into the direction of poachers . We were able to drive on and was a little shaken , I just hope that no one was hurt , and I especially hope no animals was killed . This will not keep us from visiting the Park again , as it is our Home away from Home .

Imogens Birthday! by Sue Way

It was our granddaughter Imogens 7th Birthday last week. So when they came over to our house we made a big fuss of her. We put up banners and gave her some more Shopkins as she wants them all! lol For her cake we got a fresh cream chocolate roulade and I decorated it with Shopkin rings and headband. She loved that part of her cake was also a present. We then let her choose what takeaway she wanted for dinner. She had a very special day and was a very happy girl and she still has her party with all her friends to look forward to! This week I have started a new series of scalloped topper cards. I hope you like them as there are lots more to come! Thank you for looking x http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

American Girl Doll Shopping by Judith Henry

Last week I had the pleasure of going to the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Mn with my daughter and granddaughter. My daughter had an American Girl doll when she was young. My granddaughter found it at my house and brought it back to her home. She is a very special doll, a keepsake, and she was only allowed to play with it once in a while. She wanted her own and started to save for it. With her Christmas money, pocket change from Papa, and allowance, she finally had enough. We must have spent over an hour looking at the dolls. When my daughter bought hers there were only 4 to choose from. Now they have over 50 combinations. The doll she chose has brown eyes, black hair, open mouth showing two teeth and a tan complexion. The opposite of this blue eyed blond. Note she also got the matching dress.

My Birthday Tea with my Little Granddaughter by Helen Howell

A couple of weeks ago it was my Birthday and so my family decided to take me out to a Chinese Restaurant. My 16 month old granddaughter had never been to one before, and so we wondered how she would get on. She was all dressed up in her pretty pink dress and She and I had our photo taken before leaving. Well, we need not have worried about what she would eat, she had a bit of everything. Loved the prawn crackers, ate the chilli calamari without blinking, sweet and sour pork and teriyaki chicken disappeared just as fast. She finished off her meal with some of her mums and my own fruit salad and of course Nanny had to give her a taste of her ice cream. I think my birthday tea was a success with baby!

Two of my latest designs.

Walter the Bus by Carol Clarke

On one of my daily morning walks this week I walked to the next village to ours and went past our local bus company. Ive walked past this every week for a few years now, and in fact I used to live just down the road, but this was the first time Id seen Walter the Bus! As I was taking the photo one of the drivers came to talk to me and after making sure they wouldnt mind me taking a photo I asked him about Walter. The 1946 bus was first owned by a man called Walter and when they aquired it he was in a sorry state. But they restored and named him after his original owner. Hes now used for Weddings & Proms etc. Soooo Im keeping it in mind for any future celebrations, as Id love to hire him!

This Cat Rocks by Janice McFarlane

Ive had many cats over the years and was looking through some old photographs and came across these two pictures of my cat Felix. He was the most loving cat and if he could have talked he would have. One of his most favourite sleeping positions was as in the picture on the right, which I always thought was quite funny, an looked as if he was playing air guitar, so one day I took a photo of him and thought I would have a bit of fun by manipulating the photograph to look as if he was on stage, playing rock guitar. I gave him a bandana , and put him the spotlight. I named his band Tins and Pouches like Guns n Roses and called him Axel Paws like the lead singer Axel Rose. It did give everyone a laugh and certainly brings a smile to my face every time I see it. Sadly Felix is no longer with us, he passed away last year at the grand old age of 21, but I have wonderful memories of this most lovable cat.

Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor by Tina Fitch

Well look at this beauty! One of my fave aircraft of all time, This one reminds me so much of the Vulcan... It howls on turning and looks so graceful in the skies above us. However its one of the most deadly in its class being stealth. This was just one of the stunning planes I saw last week doing their duty to protect their country. At the time I took this shot I was actually standing next too a speedway track on the other side of the road to the Air Force Base, and if you look closely you can see the track in the canopy of the F22.. I was quite surprised to see it myself then I thought WOW what a catch!I have so many photos to sieve through its going to take me months..Anyway thats all from me this week.. Files in all formats .. https://www.craftsuprint.com/tina-fitch/

My Country by Vicki Avcin

My Country is a poem by Dorothea Mackellar about Australia. It says it all about this wide brown land that is my home. And Australia is sure living up to her words. Last week I wroteabout the rain that was TC Linda which is still having its effects onQueensland with all the water still flowing through inland Queenslanddown to eventually the Murray Darling Basin all the way down in Victoria(light blue lines in the picture) Today as I write this, TC Marcus still is a Cat 5 cyclone after being born upnear Darwin in the Northern Territory earlier in the week. It has gone out to the west off the West Australian coastline but track maps for the system have it coming back east down towards the lower end of WA. (purple showing where it started, where it is now, and the pink line where they forecast it to go)This morning TC Nora was born up in the Gulf of Carpentaria and it will cause severe weather in both the NT and Queensland. (purple/pink) but they are not quite sure yet where she will track. Earlier this week there were multiple bushfires in the state of Victoria and a catastrophic fire on the south east coast of New South Wales with 70 homes burnt to the ground. Fortunately there was no loss of life. While that was happening, rain and floods in the central mid coast of NSW are causing havoc. Along our eastern coastline in Queensland we have winds, rain/showers and the possibility of another cyclone forming off the coast in the Coral Sea out round Samoa. So while other parts of the world continue with winter hanging round and bringing snow, we are having the full gauntlet of Mother Nature throwing heat, winds, rain/floods, cyclones and devastating fires at us with the prospect when all this dies down (our summer/autumn) of what they are predicting a very long cold winter with snow happening in places it hasnt snowed for many many years!! I hate the winter so not sure which season I prefer at the moment! Picture shows whats been going on and a couple of verses from the poem My Country.

Beautiful gardens by Carol Dunne

On our recent escape from the bad weather to Tenerife we visited the capital city of Santa Cruz and came across some beautiful gardens. We had lunch in a lovely cafe and walked around admiring the hard work of the local gardeners. The photograph shows only two of these magnificent archways of orange bougainvillea but there were about ten of them altogether, they looked fabulous. I wish I could grow these plants where I live but unfortunately it is too cold.
