Cat Nap-kin by Janice McFarlane

This is a continuation of the forever changing sleeping places of my cat Bailey. It always amuses me where and what he tries to squeeze in to. This time it was my napkin tray, which is full of napkins, so they made a nice cushion for him. Although he is slightly too big for the tray, he still managed to have a snooze in it. It does give a whole new meaning to having a cat nap-kin.

Humming birds by Carol Dunne

On a recent cruise to the Caribbean island of Martinique I had the good fortune to visit Jardin De Balata which are beautiful botanical gardens up in the hills. The views are spectacular as are the botanical specimens planted in the fantastic gardens. They also hang up special bird feeders filled with a honey type liquid for the little humming birds which live there. I must have taken about fifty photographs trying to get just one decent photo. I am afraid this is the best of my many attempts.

My latest designs I would like to show you are these fancy top boxes, which also have matching linings to make them just that bit more luxurious.

Nearly Over by Tina Fitch

Well the time has come again to remove all the Christmas decorations down for another year! I just cant believe how quickly the years go by now.. I swear the older you get the quicker times goes by!Also have you noticed the places you visited as a child seem to be much smaller now. and the destinations to travel to are shorter to get too...I have no idea how this happens but it does.. Anyway I must get back to taking my deccies down to save the dust LOLAnyway thats really all from me this week except Id like to wish you all a Happy New year!

Road Train by Silvia Griffin

A road train or land train is a trucking vehicle of a type used in rural and remote areas of Australia. The term road train is mainly used in Australia. Australian Kurt Gerhardt Johannsen is recognised as the inventor of the modern road train.Johannsens first road train consisted of a U.S. Army World War II surplus Diamond-T tank carrier, nicknamed Bertha, and two home-built self-tracking trailers. Both wheel sets on each trailer could steer, and therefore could negotiate the tight and narrow tracks and creek crossings that existed throughout Central Australia in the earlier part of the 20th century. Freighter Trailers in Australia viewed this improved invention and went on to build self-tracking trailers for Kurt and other customers, and went on to become innovators in transport machinery for Australia.This first example of the modern road train, along with the AEC Government Roadtrain, forms part of the huge collection at the National Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs, Northern Territory.It was one of the things I wanted to see on our AU trip. We encountered this on in Glendambo .Glendambo is a town in the Australian state of South Australia located on the Stuart Highway about 592 kilometres from the state capital of Adelaide and about 254 kilometres from Coober Pedy.

Santa got Stuck! by Carol Clarke

As its been the Christmas Holidays we have been lucky to take both of our youngest grandchildren out on our Cuddle n Giggle day outings. We let 5 year old Olivia choose where to go and she chose Hardwick Hall for this weeks outing. Imagine her surprise when we looked in the summerhouse to find that Santa was stuck up the Chimney! Mind you she spent quit a while trying to look up the chimney trying to see if it really was Santa and not just his trousers and boots! lol

My Teddy Friends by Vicki Avcin

Being a firefighter and my daughter a police officer, my teddy collection tends to relate heavily on being fire teddies and police teddies. Although strictly speaking they arent all teddies. I have a cute little police dog, police koala, a fire dog and a little fellow that is a hamster and when you press his foot sings Hot Stuff. But the rest are teddies of some kind.They hold pride of place on top of some bookshelfs we have and arent for playing with as most are limited edition and cannot be purchased now. The police service do have speciality bears available through the Community Supporting Police organisation ( a not for profit organisation) with funds from purchases go to provide for the families of police officers in times of illness or distress in crisis situations and Voluntary assistance programs designed to enhance and build relations between police and community.The fire service directly doesnt sell merchandise but other organisations supporting QFES does bring out items from time to time which makes the fire teddies collectables. Other teddies I have have been gifted to me or Ive seen in shops occasionally.

Christmas Day Swim! by Sue Way

Every year on Christmas day there is a charity swim down on the beach in our town. Hubby and I always take Alfie for a walk down to see it and there seems to be more and more people taking part every year. I dont think I will ever be brave enough to join in though! It was a really blustery cold day this year, but you wouldnt know it to look at this brave lot! lol I am back to designing after a little break over Christmas and New Year.
