Baking Cookies... by Janice Shehan

We had a delightful time baking Christmas cookies this year! New designs and cutters were used. The sugar cookies recipe was changed too, and we DID not add flour when cutting the dough. Mostly, if we needed it, powdered sugar was used, but most of the time new silicone sheets were used with parchment paper for baking. We are already looking toward Valentines Day for lucious ideas!

Winter at the Seaside by Valerie Dawes

Decided to brave the wind and the cold to take my little dog, Daisy, for a breath of air at the seaside. We are seen here at Seaford in Sussex and in the background is the beginning of the Seven Sisters hills. Since this picture was taken, a large part of this cliff face has just crumbled away into the sea, such a pity as thousands of sea birds had their nests there.I was very glad to get to the beach coffee stall for a hot chocolate for me and a biscuit for Dais.The sun was shining and the sky was blue, but it was SOOOO cold! Daisy didnt seem to mind though!

These designs are easy to make up but cant fail to impress!

Our Little Bookworm by Sue Way

No matter what is going on around her, even in the madness of Christmas, our 9-year-old granddaughter Jessica will always find a quiet place to immerse herself in a book. Here our little bookworm is reading The Creakers by Tom Fletcher that we gave her as one of her presents. Two of my grandchildren, Alfie (5) and Harry (7 months) waiting patiently under the Christmas Tree for Santa. They both look so adorable, Im sure Harry would qualify as one of Santas Elves. Its safe to say that Santa did think they had both been very good, and paid them a visit whilst they were in bed. Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.

Special Olympics by Diane Hannah

This is a story of a very special young man. His first time participating in Special Olympics. He was assigned to a group of three other young men, to make a team of four. After weeks of practice his team went to the regional competition. They did very well, which earned the team in a spot for the state competition. He was so excited to go to state! The team finished eighth at state. While at the competition, we watched the opening ceremony, went to a lovely dinner, and went to a dance, where all of the athletes had a chance to relax, make some new friends, and of course dance. He had the time of his life, and we are so grateful to have found this activity. Thank you Special Olympics for all you do for special needs people!

Christmas break with Grammy and Papa by Judith Henry

Oh my. We had such a lovely visit with our oldest granddaughter. Shes only in kindergarten but loves doing projects with Grammy. We spent the evening making pencil caterpillars for valentine gifts. She was really patient with us. 20 was like child labor to get done. Payment was two cookies. She was only here two days. We did shrinky dinks, foam lady bugs, and lots of games. Back to school next week. She is missing her friends.

Gee Up Uncle Darrell! by Carol Clarke

My eldest son Darrell works all over the world and even when hes in this country he lives over 60 miles away with his wife and children. So the opportunity for us to get all our family together in this country only happens a few times a year. But we were really lucky to have a festive family reunion recently. Darrell had spent the previous week jetting to Switzerland, then back to the UK for just 1 night and then once again on a plane to Portugal before heading back to the UK to see us all! He (I think) is/was in France this week (its hard to keep up with his jet setting! lol) and then hopefully hes got a few days off before heading to Australia in January. Two year old Austin wouldnt let him rest while he was here though. He really enjoys some rough and tumble fun with his much loved Uncle! lol Happy New Year Everyone!!!

.....With a Little Help From My Friends by Janyce Cotterill

I was thinking about The Beatles song, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends. when I looked at this photo. The four cards here are from friends I have made on craftsuprint. It is so lovely that from a crafting and design interest we can make friends through a shared enjoyment. We can give or offer support to each other through our ups and down, the joys and sorrows of life with like minded people via email, facebook and other social media and letters and cards via the post. Now as 2017 comes to a close and we look back over they year, I hope everyone involved with cup has had a good year, if you have, I hope that continues into 2018. As our lives are not always days of sunshine, we have to deal with dark days and sad times too, if your year has been particularly challenging I hope 2018 shows the face of kindness to you once more. I trust you will continue to enjoy craftsuprint and may more friendships blossom.May I also take the opportunity to thank everyone who has purchased one of my sheets or kits, who has taken an interest in my designs or taken the time to read or use my verses, I hope they have brightened your days. Everything is Big in Oz by Vicki Avcin

Australia is renowned for having venomous creatures and tourists find out we are also renowned for big things. Theres the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour NSW, The Big Lobster in Kingston SA, The Big Pineapple in Gympie Qld, The Big Mango in Bowen Qld, The Big Merino in Goulburn NSW, The Big Guitar in Narrandera NSW, The Big Gumboot in Tully Qld, The Big Prawn in Ballina NSW to name a few. But we also have big lizards which are called goannas. And we have them right in our own back yard. Goannas are a predatory monitor lizard that are found in most parts of Australia. Some species of goannas can grow to 2.5m in length. We always know when one is about, no matter if its a baby at 2 foot long or one of the bigger ones at over a metre long, because the birds go crazy. They squawk and carry on making a huge commotion to warn everything that the goanna is around, as these goannas climb trees with ease and take eggs from the birds nests. Other things in their diets are snakes, frogs, and further up north Queensland one of their favourites is crocodile eggs. It will also eat small animals according to its size, the bigger the lizard the bigger animal it can catch and eat although the prefer carrion to live animals. They come in varying shades of greys, browns, tan and even greens. Goannas feature heavily in Aboriginal folklore too and can often been seen in Aboriginal paintings. The fellow in the photo was up a tree in our front yard recently. He wouldve been about 1.5m long and blended in well with the bark. Can you spot it?

Pretty parrots by Carol Dunne

On our recent Caribbean cruise we called at the beautiful island of Gaudaloupe which is where they film the TV program Death in Paradise. We went to visit the Botanical Gardens and came across these pretty little parrots. They were crafty little fellows. They all waited by a machine in the bird enclosure, sitting along the fence in a row waiting for people to come and put 5 cents in the slot machine. A notice near the machine said, When you put your money in the birds will come! Sure enough as you can see my husband put in his 5 cents to get a small cup of creamy coloured fluid. Which the little parrots love, and next minute they landed on him all trying to get whatever it was in the little cup. I think you can see 8 little parrots in the photo and there were a few more out of view waiting their turn.

Too Much! by Tina Fitch

My daughter her husband and the twins on the Rockin Roller coaster ride.. One of the big ones in Florida.. She tells me the twins loved it... I hate to disagree but their faces say it all they look terrified!However they got off and returned again for a second go so I am thinking maybe the photo was just to scare Nanny...
