DISNEY WORLD... by Janice Shehan

Well its getting a little cooler here in the southern part of the United States. I am about 1 hours from Disney World and thought Id go with the granddaughters to visit. They loved the rides and exhibits. They are such swimmers, their favorite evening spot was one of the gorgeous swimming pools in the park.

These are so easy to make and are fun for the little ones as well. These can be sweet for home baked goods or a small gift plus tissue paper. Enjoy!

Ive just had a few days up in Glasgow, Scotland. I have wanted to visit for quite some time and I was not disappointed. Its a beautiful city with wonderful buildings and lovely people. One of the places we explored was Glasgow University. It was quite stunning. Here are just a few pictures of what we found there. What a picturesque place to study. It made me want to be a student all over again! Ill post a few more pictures in the coming weeks. Im leaving you with my latest 2018 Calendars. One for dog lovers and one for those who prefer cats! At this point in time, there seems to be more crafters prefer cats, judging by the sales! In the range is also a floral calendar and a landscape one too. Thank you for your interest.

Proud Nanny by Joyce Watson

I felt very proud on Monday 30th October, when my eldest grandson Josh married the love of his life Danni. It was only a very small wedding but the happiest of days for everyone The day was cold but bright and Danni looked lovely in her dress and Josh was in his army uniform. so smart. I didnt shed a tear during the ceremony but when I gave Josh a hug afterwards the tears flowed, such an emotional day, a memorable one too. Danni had the giggles when saying her middle name [she doesnt like it] and the best man when asked for the rings, put them on the cushion still in their boxes!

Man of the Match by Janice McFarlane

My little Grandson Alfie, has been ice skating for a year now, since he was 4, and has taken to it like a duck to water (or should that be ice)? He wanted to play ice hockey like his daddy does. My daughter and son-in-law took him along to the Ice Rink in Peterborough near where they lived at RAF Wittering and he had a few lessons. It wasnt long before he could skate although at bit wobbly. Once his confidence grew he got his own Alfie size ice hockey stick, and was a natural on the ice with it. My family them moved to RAF Benson near Oxford and took Alfie to the Ice Rink there, where he thrived. At the age of 5 he is now on the under 9s team playing for Oxford. His first match was playing away against Swindon, and Oxford won. To make it all the more special, Alfie won man of the match, and got a small trophy. I cant tell you how proud I am of him.

These are my two latest kits, for all you cat lovers out there. After being away from designing for 6 weeks due to my hubby being ill, am back doing what I love. Thank you for looking.

Fused Glass by Rachael Dunne

My wonderfully talented mum has been making fused glass jewelry for a while and this weekend she invited me over to find out for myself how to do it. Its really quite easy as long as you have a little bit of creative imagination and of course, the right equipment.Basically, you take some pieces of strategically broken glass and put them inside a device called a Hot Pot and then cook it in a microwave - yes, an ordinary household microwave! Somehow, the Hot Pot amplifies the heat from the microwave and heats the glass to over 1000 degrees, this fuses the glass together producing sometimes hit and miss but really quite beautiful results.The necklace in the picture was my first attempt which I have to say I am rather proud of!

Cholmondeley Castle by Carol Dunne

It was a lovely day last Sunday so we went for a drive to Cholmondeley Castle ( you say Chumley if you are a local ) . We were told the trees were beautiful in the Autumn. It was the last time it was open this year and as we have never been there before we thought we would pay it a visit. As you can see from the photo the trees are quite striking in their autumnal colours.

Best Buddies! by Sue Way

My Golden Retriever Alfie & my daughter Kallys one Baxter have been best buddies since they were puppies. Alfie is the oldest by just two months, so they have grown up together. Baxter comes to stay with us if Kelly is out or away & Alfie goes to them, so its like they have two homes with people who love them. They are 12 and a half now, but are still the best of friends. This weeks Cuddle & Giggle day outing took us to Clumber Park once again. Although the sus didnt shine it was still a nice day and didnt rain and sooo we had a great time! After a picnic in the courtyard we headed into the woodland play park and then wandered out and around and to our surprise there were a number of sports to have a go at. Two year old Austin and 5 year old Olivia tried them all ... archery, volleyball, tennis, skipping .... but They loved the football best .... because the goals were just their size! Lol

I have been so busy, but must get some time to do some design sheets this week. phew where does the time go. I thought I should show what I have been busy designing. Well Monday gave us plenty to do at the airbase this week, The started night flying this week as their yearly budget was renewed!So heres the first 6 ready and waiting for the signal they can taxi to the runway and be given permission to take off for their daily sorties. We then waited for them to land which they did after around an hour.Then came the wait for the next batch! OMG we waited and waited and finally at 5.30pm they decided to start the engines ready for their night sorties.So out came the camera again and set the tripod up as it was getting dark... But come 7PM I was tired and cold so we left for home, We didnt wait for them to return..Roll on next week!

The Halloween Challenge by Diane Hannah

Every year my son William tries to out-do his costume from the year before. He researches, orders supplies and then he gets to work on the costume. His wife Morgan does all of his makeup every year. She actually does it twice. There is a practice makeup session...then on Halloween she does the makeup again! Then she has to get their daughter made up, so she can go for Trick-or-Treat. This has become a fun and fascinating adventure for our entire family. We all wait for the pictures on Halloween night!

Halloween is my favourite time of the year! We went to our local hawking centre for a fun filled afternoon! We carved pumpkins did some apple bobbing and some messy play, we got to see a bird show, wasnt the greatest weather but we made still had fun, finished it off with a cavery with all the family, Next up Christmas!

How beautiful is this guy, who I met recently at Drusilas Zoo Park in East Sussex. He was SO still that I had really convinced myself that he wasnt real..... but then he moved one eye! He was about a metre long, so quite a big chap, and was just basking in the heat coming from his over-head lamp. And Im sure he was smiling - at least I think he was!....

Bay of Fundy by Judith Henry

Vacations are fun and discovering rocks from the ocean floor on the beach at the Bay of Fundy was just one of the many highlights of our trip. I wanted to pick up pockets full but that is not permitted. Besides it would only add to my weight or my luggage weight. It was cold and damp this time of year but it was still beautiful. The air is so refreshing with no pollution.

Superboats by Vicki Avcin

Last weekend Hervey Bay Queensland was the venue for the 5th Round of the Offshore Superboat Championship. This was the last round for 2017. These boats are spectacular in themselves and a real sight to see. There are 2 classes, Superboat Extreme Class 1 where the Boats 38ft to 46ft long and capable of speeds of 210kph with Engines 2 x 750 hp V8 inboard motors. Then there is the Supercat Outboard Class 600hp Catamarans, with a Minimum weight 1800kg, Maximum horsepower 600 (2 x 300hp outboards). With top speeds approx 185kph (110mph)The Superboats are too big to be brought in on boat trailers, so it is quite a spectacle to see these huge boats coming into town on the backs of customised semi trailers. They are then lifted by cranes from the trucks and taken down to be put on the water in the marina. They race in open water offshore.Hervey Bay has a reputation for turning on a bit of short sharp chop that can stand up and send the boats off into any direction for Sundays finals. The shootout for pole position is done on the Saturday and the water is quite glass like. Spectators line the foreshore to watch, and a supersize TV screen is also put up for those who like a close up view provided by a helicopter that follows and hovers over the course. It is always a fantastic weekend and draws huge crowds. The photos are used with kind permission from the copyright holder.
