A Very Grumpy Peacock... by Clare Walker

This peacock lives in Holland Park, West London. Its a bit of a trip from where we are, but we go every year, in the hope of catching his courtship season, and hence, that elusive tail fanning. This year, we obviously missed it completely, as the poor bird was moulting. Besieged by visitors (including us) he sat, grumpily determined not to suffer the embarrassment of even walking around without full feathers. But Holland Park is still an inspiring visual treat. Think whimsically-trimmed spiral trees, life-size chess pieces, roses, a Japanese water garden, and even wild woodland, and you get the idea. And as for seeing the peacock in all his glory...Well, we`ll just have to go back again next year...

Here are two of my new items for autumn-hope you have fun with them.

Table Tennis by Sue Way

When I was six, our mum and dad saved hard and moved us to a lovely village in the countryside. They threw themselves into village life by joining the sports and social club. My dad played on the cricket team and started playing table tennis. He was soon playing table tennis in the local league and helping to coach new players. He got the whole family playing, although when I hit my teens I was more interested in youth club than playing a match, but couldnt let the team down. When I got married I only played occasionally for fun but then hubby started playing too and mum and dad still played. Now my lovely dad has gone, but he would have loved to have seen his great granddaughter Jessica, picking up a bat on holiday and learning to play. She loved it and was soon playing little rallies against me and hubby. We told her about my dad and she said she must have got the table tennis gene, bless her. Hubby is going to take her for a little knock when he can to keep her interested. Here is a pic of her learning to play and Imogen being ball girl and referee. This week I have finally added a boy to my Sweet Little series and a pretty ethereal lady. http://www.craftsuprint.com/sue-way/?r=968387

New family member by Carol Dunne

We have a new addition to the family - an African grey parrot whose name is George. My son-in-law was in the pet store when George took a shine to him so George accompanied him home. I am not sure if my daughter was too pleased about the unexpected addition to the family but his cheeky behaviour has won a place in her heart. As you can see George is very happy with my Grandson Tyler and he calls the dog to give her treats so she is very happy too.

Here are two of my latest pop and twist cards designs.

Ive never seen so many Police Cars and Police Motor Cycles. At one point before the Cyclists got to us all we could see looking down the road were blue flashing lights .... it looked like hundreds of twinkling Christmas lights! lol Below are 2 of my NEW Everlasting Perpetual Calendar Desk Set - The Gifts that never go out of date!

Noah Flooding Here by Janice McFarlane

Last Sunday (10th Sept) my husband and I as part of our church group had a childrens activity stall at our local festival in Brinsley Nottingham. All the childrens activities were free, which included badge making, fridge magnet making, colouring pages, bracelet making and I was face painting. We decided the theme would be Noahs Ark so all the faces I designed were animals. I designed and apron for myself which said Mrs Noah, and as you can see from the photograph my husband is Noah. It was a great day, but the weather wasnt very good. Initially we had just a mild wind, but in the afternoon the wind really picked up and then it poured down. Thankfully not enough to flood and I dont think our gazebo would have made a very good ark, but despite everything we still had smiles on our faces, and the children loved it.

New Venture - Selling Cards with my Designs by Judith Henry

Im so excited about my new venture. Ive been designing and giving away my prototype to friends and family on special occasions for 3 years. My friends have encouraged me to make them and sell them. So last week was a production week. I make 20 of my Magic Slider cards to take to the Clear Lake Iowa Arts Center to sell on a commission basis. Before I got out my door my friends bought 6 of them. Im off on a quest now to see what products will be the best seller. My daughter is an interior designer with a great talent on displaying her pictures and cards. She has made this cute clothes pin wreath that is always changing. One card comes in, out goes a picture. New school pictures are taken, out goes a card. Then Christmas comes and it becomes the wreath over the fireplace with all the cards they receive. Just though Id share with my crafty friends. Its so easy to make and a great way to display the cards you are selling.

First hike after Irma by Debra Laraway

We came through Hurricane Irma with only minor damage that is more inconvenience than problem, so were pretty lucky. Patches and I took our first trip to our favorite hiking place since the hurricane. Lots of small branches down, and all the moss is off the tops of trees and in piles on the ground. There was a fair amount of standing water. The picture is of one of the main paths. This is the first time Ive seen this much water in this particular place.

The autumn has arrived by Taina Kankare

The autumn has arrived in the southern Finland. The leaves are turning yellow, orange, brown and red and the nights are getting colder. In some mornings there has already been some autumn mist, which wraps the nature into a mystical haze. The birds dont sing much, and there are not many nature flowers left. But it is also the harvest time. The crop fields have turned to yellow and gold. The apples are ripening. The forests are full of lingonberries and mushrooms. The mornings after rainy nights smell of autumn. I have always loved the autumn colors and the smell of dry, fallen maple leaves. So, when I saw this maple tree in my sons school yard, I just had to take a photo of it. I wish you all a wonderful autumn!
