WHITBY CAMPING TRIP

Well we had our 2nd caravan break last weekend, when we went to Whitby. We were so lucky with the weather.

The rain was torrential all the way down, but the minute we arrived, it stopped and the rest of the weekend was beautiful. We stayed on a lovely caravan site, which I would certainly visit again.

It's set in the pine forest and was so tranquil. On Saturday lunchtime, we sat with fish and chips watching the boats go by and I captured this pirate ship in the photo below. With pirates in mind, I've chosen my animated pirate decoupage sheet and a new wedding easel kit.

HAPPY CAMPERS

I am so excited, we've only gone and got ourselves a caravan.

We had our first trip to Filey, last week, for my birthday. The caravan certainly got christened as no sooner had we pitched it, than the thunder and lightning started and the heavens opened! Fortunately the rest of the weekend was beautiful.

My younger brother and his wife were staying on the same site as Mark and I, so we had a fabulous weekend. Can't wait for my next trip. Had to promote one of my caravan sheets with this photo and the other sheet is one of my newest designs.

SCHOOL DAYS TALES

Before I entered the crafting world, I was a Deputy Head Teacher. Working with children was so rewarding. Children made every day different and I have so many memories of my time working in school. The best ones of course, being the funny things that children say and do.

I thought I would share one of my stories and hopefully give someone a giggle.

So here's the first. A little girl went home from school one day and said to her Mum 'What is sex?' Her Mum wasn't expecting the question and wondered what on earth Miss Briggs had been teaching that day. She explained that Mummies and Daddies were different sexes and she would learn more about it when she was older. The little girl replied, 'Oh no, not that stuff, Mum! I mean when you ask Miss Briggs a question and she is busy, she always says 'I'll just be 2 secs!'

Going Nuts!

We are really lucky to live by woods and fields and regularly see a variety of wildlife in the garden. We have hedgehogs, pheasants, squirrels and various species of birds which visit us.

We even had a white ferret one day! For the last few years, we have had a woodpecker who has decided he likes one of our bird feeders.

Here he is, tucking into the nuts hung on our apple tree. I love his beautiful colours and markings.

What A Difference 2 Weeks Make!

2 weeks a go, I visited my family in Meltham, near Huddersfield. The photo at the top, shows the view through my car window as I drove into the village. It was like driving through a tunnel of snow.

It was a week after the snow had fallen and the road had been closed for several days. Today, we have beautiful sunshine in Durham and I think Spring has actually arrived.

My daffodils seem to have survived the Winter and are finally in full bloom. Let's hope the sun is here to stay!
