We are lucky in Australia to have a diversity of beautiful coloured birds. In my own region we have Rainbow Lorikeets that visit the garden, but up in the hills where my son lives they are fortunate enough to have King Parrots.
These are constant visitors to his garden and often land on the balcony railing looking for a helping of seed.
Their magnificent red heads and breast make them really stand out. I was lucky enough to see one or two on my last visit and take this photograph.

Restrictions have slowly been lifted here in Oz and now we can have visitors stay overnight. So I was really pleased to have my little granddaughter stay with me.
At 3 years old she is good fun and has a beautiful head of fine curly hair, but the poor lasss fringe was getting in her eyes, so Nanny came to the rescue with her nail scissors and trimmed up that unruly fringe.
When done Alyssa gave it her seal of approval. Well done Nanny!

Sunday was a lovely day and my little granddaughter and me went for a walk around the Lovely George Tindale Garden situated in the Dandenongs.
She was particularly interested in a huge tree that had been cut down and we had to stay a while, so that she could climb on it.
She is so lucky to live in the hills, there are many delightful places to visit and walk around. Beautiful day, beautiful gardens and a delight to be with my granddaughter.

I am looking after my little granddaugher for a couple of days a week just at the moment, so try to take her out on an adventure at least one of the days.
This time we went off to Garden World to visit the Dinosaurs in the inside Catus Garden.
At not quite three she loves to see these things, and when she sees their teeth she makes a growling noise to show how fierce they are.
The little ones, she pats on the head. I think this adventure was a success with her. Where to next I wonder?

My little granddaughter who is almost three years old, came to stay for a couple of days. Last time she came she did some cooking with me, so I asked if she would like to do some cooking again.
She certainly did and this time we made rock cakes.
So she had a go at adding the ingredients to the bowl, stirring and plopping the mixture onto the baking sheets.
The cakes came out more like stepping stones rather than rocks, but tasted lovely. When she went home she took a box full for her mummy and dadda. Cooking with Nanny was once again a success.
