News & Updates from Donna Weaver Designs

Well Spring has definitely sprung here in my corner of the world! Our apricot tree has already shown its blossoms and is now full of leaves and tiny green apricots . . our pear tree is only now blooming with its pretty little white flowers.
The weeds are growing like . . well, weeds hahaha. We have been busy at home building our new barbeque area in anticipation of a spring and summer full of family barbeques and fun.
Now that we have moved back to our home town, there are plenty of relatives to party with and we just cant wait!
Our house is TINY so we desperately need this outdoor area for entertaining. Were planning weekly bbqs because I LOVE it, theres nothing better than chucking some meat on the barbie and having plenty of salads to have with it!
The only drawback is the pesky flies and mozzies that like to join us sometimes!Once the bbq area is complete, I will be able to put up our outdoor table setting and start arranging my plants.
I have some poor pot plants that I have been dragging around the countryside for years and years – some of them have travelled almost 5000 kilometres (around 3000 miles) in their lives!
They were looking a little worse for wear because Ive been lazy and neglected them.
So my youngest daughter and I showed them some love yesterday. We re-potted them with some nice new potting mix and a couple of plants were even treated to pretty new pots too.I still have quite a few plants to re-pot, but it feels good that Ive actually made a start!
Its a big job.
We used almost 100 kilos (around 220 pounds) of potting mix yesterday, and we have plenty more plants to go.Im hoping it will all be done in time to have a Halloween party . . not confident that it will happen, but you never know your luck!
