Mothers Day Fun

Last weekend was Mothers Day here in the U.S. One of my presents was a set of clip on lenses and tripod for my phone camera. This is a picture of my hiking buddy and helper beagle, Patches, using the fun fish eye lens.

My best present though was one of my daughters usually works weekends, and she took a vacation day to come visit me.

Everyone kept it a secret, so it was a great surprise!

Hiking With My Buddy

This is my hiking buddy, Patches, on one of our morning hikes through Florida scrub land. Patches would spend all day here if she could. She pays very close attention to all the signs of a trip to the scrub, including my hair.

The only time I put my hair in a ponytail for a hat is when I go kayaking or we go hiking.

If Patches sees me put it up, she starts dancing around and running to the garage. Who knew dogs would pay attention to hair styles!

Kayaking In Florida

We had beautiful weather for kayaking on Lake LuLu in Winter Haven, Florida. The kayak tends not to cooperate when it comes to being still, so when I take pictures from it I just take bunches of them, and hope something turns out well.

The main road to Lego Land is close to the North side of the lake, but the South side is marshy and undeveloped.

Very much pre-theme park Florida.

Acadia National Park

This is Acadia National Park in Maine, US. For our 30th anniversary we took a trip through Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. I love the water, so had lots to photograph on the way.

We were afraid being from Florida we would be cold, but the weather was lovely and we didnt have one bit of rain until the last day.

Rainy Season

This is the rainy season here in Florida. So far it has been especially so, which is good, as Florida normally depends on hurricanes to replenish the aquifer, and we haven't had much hurricane activity the last ten years.

My flowers are loving it.

The fence in the photo is about a yard / meter high. Usually these flowers are about half the height they are this year. The green bushy thing behind them is one basil plant. Nice to have all the water without the wind! Here are a couple of my latest single sheet designs. Thank you for having a look!
