This sculpture technique combines soft bonsai wire and Cheese Wax in a simple way which results in lovely imaginative shapes. Mini Glass Beads and glitter are used as effects and a play of colours in the Cheese Wax. The new fibre paper is used for a light and transparent effect. The possibilities are endless and the shapes may vary depending on your imagination, taste and age. Enjoy.

Step 1

Form the "body" from soft bonsai wire using a drawing or using your imagination.

Step 2

Cut or slice a small piece of cheese wax. Soften the cheese wax using the heat from your hands or by kneading.

Step 3

You may knead glitter or mini glass beads into the cheese wax.

Step 4

Model the wax around the "body".

Step 5

Glue on a piece of fibre paper onto the wing. Cut along the edge of the wing.

Step 6

Roll a piece of cheese wax to form a long thin sausage. Squeeze the sausage onto the edge of the wings. Make big eyes and attach them onto the head. Cut two pieces of silver plated wire for antennae and attach them.

TIP – a stand for the sculpture

Cut a milk carton to the desired height. Fill it with plaster and let it dry for 5 min. Then insert bonsai wire into the plaster to make a hole and leave it for 5 min. Then remove the bonsai wire. Now there is a hole for the model's "stick". Let the base dry and remove it from the milk carton.
