News & Updates from Craft Box Designs · Page 3

Recently we went to stay with family in North East England. One day we went for a family day out to Beamish Open Air Museum. I have to say that various members of my family had very mixed reviews about the museum.
My husband and I had been there before, many years ago when we were courting.
He had told me he was taking me out on the Sunday so I was ready and waiting - dressed from head to toe in white - and he took me down a wet coal mine..... Anyway, this time we didn't go down the mine and I have to admit I was bored to tears.
My husband, however, loved it all.
It was red hot and my grandson became a bit fractious but the baby was as good as gold. We went for a ride on an old tram, Finlay had a ride on an old carousel and in the photo you can see him sharing a ride with his mum (my daughter) in a good old fashioned "shuggy boat".
I have no idea what they are called in other parts of the country! I'm adding more designs to my Tower Card series, in particular Christmas designs. These fold flat for posting so will save on postage costs!

Just to let you all know I'm having a bit of computer trouble so may be delayed in commenting on your card uploads.
I will catch up as soon as I can. On a brighter note, my family was here last week and we had a trip over to the Isle of Iona.
The photo shows Iona Abbey. The day started off a bit cloudy but then turned hot and sunny. We spent most of the week on the beach at the bottom of our garden, playing with the dog in the sea, hunting in rock pools and flying a kite.
It was a good old fashioned holiday where the kids were happy and it didn't cost any money! Bliss!!! These are two sets of 3 octagonal Christmas gift boxes showing Xmas baubles.

Thought you might like to see a photo of some of the millions of bluebells flowering around my house at the moment.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with cardmaker Sue Needham again, for a cuppa and a chat.
We originally met on Facebook because of Craftsuprint, and whilst chatting we discovered that Sue regularly comes to holiday on the Isle of Mull and she usually stays in the holiday cottage which would be classed as my next door neighbour! (Houses are a bit spread out here!) Unfortunately this time that cottage wasn't available to her so she stayed in the cottage on the other side of me instead! (Probably about a couple of miles away!) The photo shows us, both a bit windswept, outside that cottage.
The cards being promoted are from my new set of Patchwork cards.

My dog Alfie takes his job of looking after his family very seriously - although he is very friendly he likes to patrol his "borders".
I took this photo of him guarding us against the Highland cattle who wander freely past our garden several times a week.
He barks at them and they are completely unfazed by him. I think they're used to him by now! It's almost as if the cow is saying to him - not you again! The photos are of my model vans which I have altered so that they can now be used as little party favour boxes.
These two have graphics suitable for children's birthday parties.
