Flowers Say It Best
Submitted By Diamond Crafts
No matter what the occasion,
Flowers say it best,
They're there to help us celebrate,
Or show sympathy at our loss,
The colours in nature's canvas,
Brighten up so many days,
Our lives would be much the poorer,
Without flowers to adorn our pathways.
Friendship
Submitted By Fran Turner
A friend gives hope
when you're feeling low
A friend shares her home
as a place you can go
A friend is faithful,
Loyal and true
And my friend I'm so thankful
I found you.

With all my love
A Poppy Poem
Submitted By Anne Sutherland
The Cottage Garden, what a dream.
Flower beds of whites and creams;
but most of all I love the red
of poppies growing wild instead.
Their lives are short and brightness bursts
into flames of orange and red,
against the green of meadows
waves the lovely poppy head.
A life that's brief but so intense
it takes your breath away.
The delicate petals against the fence
leans there, then fades away.
The Wheel Of The Year (pagan/wiccan)
Submitted By Diamond Crafts
The Wheel of Year keeps turning,
As seasons come and go,
We celebrate the change in life,
The continual ebb and flow,
We observe the change in nature,
And celebrate rebirth,
While we're reminded of creation,
Of the ever changing Earth.
Missing You
Submitted By Diana Holmes
Although you seem so far away,
Our thoughts are with you night and day,
We think of happy times spent with you
And have lots of loving memories too.
Thinking of you Mum on Mother's Day
I Don't Need A Reason
Submitted By Janet Horne
I don't need a reason to send a card
I'm just like that, as you know
So for no reason other than you're my friend
It's your turn to get one and so

As the sun is shining high in the sky
And the birds are singing a tune
I thought we could meet and have a chat
lets make it happen real soon.

I'll ring you on Tuesday if that is ok
To work out a time and a date
Then we can look forward to our little treat
So don't make it too long to wait.
A Little Pot Of Gold
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
Marking off the numbers
On your Bingo card
Holding your breath 'just in case'
Can be very hard
Getting all the numbers
Is what it's all about
If you get a line filled
You have to give a shout
If you've marked all the numbers
The you have got Full House
You collect your winnings before you go
And share them with your spouse
WELL MAYBE!
Warm Thoughts
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
When we are in mid winter
And the weather is icy at night
Don't complain of the cold and shiver
Think of days of warmth and sunlight

Think of sunny days in the garden
Of bright holidays down by the sea
Very soon you'll forget the old night
And thinking warm thoughts like me
The Best Of Nature
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
What a wonderful world we live in
So many wondrous things
Like rainbows after the rain
And the chorus of birds that sing

Of beautiful starry nights
Or when the earth is covered in snow
When animals and babies are born
And new flowers begin to grow
Birds Song Of Spring
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
As you walk through the woods
The young leaves have started springing
From lime green buds upon the trees
Where all the birds are singing
They are singing Spring has come today
As they sway up in the trees
The branches wave and dance around
In the soft and gentle breeze
Believe In Yourself
Submitted By Veronica Robertson
Believe in yourself
Do not give up
Not everyone is there to hurt you
Be as you are,
Do not change for no-one
Do not be beaten by those
Who think they can,
Your heart is yours
And you alone can decide
Who lives in your life
Believe in yourself.
My Wishes
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
I know you love your Bingo
And a flutter on the Lottery too
What would you do if you won a lot?
I know what I would do

I would buy me a brand new car
Maybe some new furniture too
Then I'd give you a special treat
And buy some flowers for you
Friends
Submitted By Celia Clare
What everyone needs is an old fashioned chum
Someone to laugh at every old joke
Who wont take offense if their ego takes a poke
Who'll come down to the pub for a couple of beers
And recall all the memories shared through the years
You know they'll be there when there's trouble and strife
The unbeatable team,
A Husband and Wife
A Faithful Pal
Submitted By Celia Clare
I'm the rag doll who used to play
With you each and every day
Now I'm stuffed here in this box
With a load of smelly socks
I guess you don't need me anymore
You probably find me an awful bore
I've got no wizzers, pops or bangs
Don't interact or have scary fangs
But when the batteries reach their end
I'll still be here, your rag doll friend
The Teddy
Submitted By Celia Clare
I'm your teddy loyal and true
You know that I'll take care of you
I'll give you cuddles and see you right
and sleep beside you through the night

If you awaken with a start
Just hold he up against your heart
Bad dreams I'll just make float away
So you'll enjoy tomorrow's play
Exhausted
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
Oh to be a Mum
With young children on the run
Always, always on the go
No time to ever stop or slow

But would you ever change the role
Of being an exhausted Mum?
I bet you would say 'Never'
Because they give you so much fun
Footy Star!
Submitted By Celia Clare
As you come onto the pitch
the crowd begin to roar
You run, you swerve, you duck 'n' dive
are just about to score
But then you see that you've been tricked
into the offside trap
And before you find the score
you're woken from your nap!
From One Old Friend To Another
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
When we say we're getting older
When everything is starting to droop
We have a laugh about it
We say we are stuck in a loop
We don't worry about it
We just carry on as before
Over those years we've grown wiser
So don't let's talk about age anymore
A Beautiful Butterfly
Submitted By Hilda Mullinger
A small and delicate butterfly
Settled next to me
Its colours were exquisite
Its wings spread out to see

It flew onto a flower
And then onto a tree
I'm sure it wanted to show off
It's beautiful colours to me

My Best Friend
Submitted By Debra Jenkinson
Friends
Someone special that comes your way
who puts others first every single day
Is always there, when there's a need
growing in your heart from just a seed
bringing the sunshine, that's what they do
so I've been so lucky in finding you
My Best Friend
New Home
Submitted By Iris Harborne
The boxes were packed,
The van arrived.
Now your new house
You've moved inside.
Unpack the boxes,
Make the house a home.
and may happiness have
moved in with you.

My Lover
Submitted By Veronica Robertson
My lover creeps.
In a coffin
My lover sleeps.
He visits me
When the moon is full
Lovers who cannot
Truly be
Quietly, my shadow lover
Comes to me
Holding me in his arms
Gently, sweetly kissing me
Tonight is the night
I've finally chosen
For my lover and I
To live through eternity
