These delicate pink pen and watercolour hollyhocks make a gorgeous, design for a simple A5 card topper, for female birthdays and occasions. But it also makes a lovely base for adding the optional two easy cut decoupage layers, one or more of the eight sentiment tags, and room for as much additional decoration as you like.
(To avoid duplication, please note that this sheet is now also available on CUP as one of the 15 sheets in my "Floral Bumper Kit 1"
(cup848110_79993).
Finally, this card topper comes with small-scale commercial use, meaning that you can sell any cards you hand make with this item, on CUP or anywhere else.

Thank You, Clare, for another stunning design done in ink and watercolour. My mother grew hollyhocks in a little country village in Victoria, Gippsland, consequently I have a very fond memory of collecting the flowers and the seeds. I printed the sheet supplied onto gloss 280gsm card, and cut out all the elements. I made the backing sheets and attached them with double sided tape as I used the step by step method. The first backing sheet is a pale green, to match the undergrowth, 9.25x13cm, which I attached, to the main topper. I attached the ribbon at the back of the backing sheet 1.5cm up from the bottom edge of the backing sheet. The darker green swirl backing sheet measures 9.5 x 13.5cm. I used a small 10cm doily to attach to the back left of this backing sheet, and attached them to a white backing sheet 10cm x 14cm. Then another of the darker green, 10.5 x 14.5cm and finally ,the pink backing sheet is 11.5x15.5cm, Using the double sided tape each time. The main card is white and cut at 26cm x 16.5 and folded in half. Before I attached the largest backing sheet to the white card, I wrapped the ribbon around the back of the pink backing sheet, and secured it at the back. I used the same ribbon, vertically, to edge the left hand side of the card, and continued it on the inside as a feature, so that I can slip the insert underneath the ribbon to keep it in place. I used padded double sided tape strips to attach the pink backing sheet to the card front. I added the small elements, and 2 of the sentiments, using padded tiny double sided dots. Next time, I will print the sheet off twice, and make more of a feature of the central theme, by elevating the central art work. as an extra element, with double sided padded tape.
I liked the fresh summery feel about the shades I have used in the backing sheets. I find the experimentation of trialling colours, and embellishments with your art work, most enjoyable.
Thank You and a Big Hug
Pamela Horton
