This delightful stitching pattern by Emy van Schaik featuring pansies, one of the most loved and popular flowers, as the theme is such a useful image to use for the topper of so many celebrations, I was so delighted to be able to add this design to my collection.

I have used a matte 170gsm white card to print in the pale green shade, I have chosen, and then cut the card at 12cm square before transferring the pattern.

I completed all the stitching using green metallic thread for the stems and gold metallic thread for the pansies before attaching any beads.

I have used 13 iridescent green, blue rice beads, for the leaves 2 of which are 7mm in size and the rest 5mm in size..

I have used 47 silver lined dark topaz seed beads for the edging area of the pansies and attached them using the gold metallic thread.

I haven’t any spacers at the moment so I have used 4 topaz shaded tiny 5mm clear sequins together with one of the topaz seed beads for the throat area of the pansies.

I have used 6 of the same sequins and topaz beads combination to complete the stitching.

I then secured the stitching at the back using satin finished good quality magic tape. I defined the edges of the card with a pale green fine line permanent pen before attaching the gold ribbon across the top left corner, folding the edges under and securing them with the magic tape.

I have defined the edges of the yellow and green backing sheets using a gold metallic pen, before attaching them using red power tape.

The main cream coloured card is cut at 28 x 14cm and scored and folded before attaching the completed topper.

I have used a pansy decoupage to attach over the gold ribbon and made a matching ribbon bow to complete the embellishments.

I have used a verse from the free verse section to print onto the cream insert I have prepared, which has a pansy, coloured, using wet and dry pencils in the dry form.
