Ed112 Christmas Snowman
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community (4)
The very cute image of this Santa face as a snowman is a very easy and quick stitching pattern to complete.
I have used white card as the main backing to copy the design onto and used 2 strands of glitter silver metallic thread for the front of the hat and pompom, single strands of red metallic thread for the red hat, single strands of copper for the jacket and light brown for the and floral design.
To outline the eyes, eyebrows and complete the eye lashes I have used a metallic black, to fill the cheeks and outline the nose, I have used soft pink embroidery floss and copper metallic to outline the mouth.
To colour and shade the completed work, I have used wet and dry coloured pencils. I have attached 6 glass golden brown seed beads on either side of the and 7 tiny round brown beads for the centre of each petal.
I have cut around the Image and backed it with bright red card and used D.S. tape to attach it to a pearl finished ivory paper, added the sentiment and the silver Christmas tree images.
The inside open part of this insert has the holly image, cup479109_936 printed with an added verse, from the free verse Christmas section and measures 29.5 x21cm..
The main card is the same holly print with a window cut out which measures 15 x 9cm.
I have attached the snow flake embossed acetate sheet cut at 21 x 15cm to the front over the window opening using red power tape on all 4 edges.
I have used red A4 Paper to attach to the inside of the main , cutting the window area slightly smaller on all 4 edges to give the effect of a red frame.
I was then able to centre the Santa onto the ivory insert so that whole of this image was visible when the card was closed.
I have used a large bright red glitter sentiment to attach to the card front. The extra effort in making the window has given this card extra dimension and I am thrilled with the result.
