Ed024 Corner
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community (3)
I have used this design previously as a Christmas topper for a greeting card using the red, green and gold shades, and now today I am using much softer shades for the front of a female 80th birthday celebration card.
I printed the sheet provided so the design sits well into the lower left hand corner of a 12 x 11cm white 170gsm smooth finished matte card.
I used a single thread of soft grey embroidery floss together with a silver glitter metallic thread to complete all the stitching, including attaching the beads.
I completed the lower section swirls and attached the seed beads, only, as I was working.
The tube beads I attached when all the other beads were attached and the stitching completed. I have used a mixture of 34 pearl finished seed beads in pale blue, silver and 2 shades of pink.
The 14 Silver glass tube beads varied in length from 4mm to 5mm and I sometimes needed to use 2 to give the dramatic effect as on the sheet provided.
I have defined the edges of the finished work with a pale blue fine line permanent pen and secured the stitching and bead work at the back with magic tape before attaching this to the 12.5 x 11.5cm, pink silver edged backing sheet.
I have used cup986138_21027 and changed the hue to be mauve as the next backing sheet. I have used a metallic mauve pen to define the edges before attaching this to the topper and then the completed topper onto the white14.25x13.5cm card front.
I have used the mauve metallic pen to define all the edges on the main card. I have drawn a pansy flower using black fine line pen and alcohol ink pens. I hand drew leaves, the bud and stems with a black fine line pen and coloured them using water colour pencils.
I added the silver bow and the numbers 80.
To complete the insert, I have used the same mauve white spot cup986138_21027, cut to fit, and added a small image of the finished card front.
I have added a sentiment a verse from the free verse section and some peel off decorative strips. I will be able to use this easy to complete design, which has such easy directions to follow, for so many occasions, thank you Emy, I love it.
