This delightfully beautiful design by Karen Adair, has such universal appeal and equally suitable for Birthday, Mothers’ Day, Easter and Thinking of you as a greeting or celebration card.
This design lends itself to a very quick and easy card to complete.
If you have someone special you wish to treat, you may like to do as I have and use this as a birthday greeting card as displayed in the images I have posted.
I printed the design onto A4 good quality white, 120gsm satin finished photo paper twice, reducing the size to fit.
I printed one copy in a slightly larger size onto regular copy paper. I used one of the smaller main images, 11cm square copy, as the main backing sheet.
I prepared 3 more backing sheets. The 12x12cm, 2 tone purple is joined vertically at 8cm, the 13cm x13cm white is edged with a mauve metallic pen and the delicate print is, Shabby Flowers H05, from the Floral Shabby Chic colours 111 papers, cup1118787_2048.
I used D.S tape to mount these together, and attached the silver decorative trim around the white backing sheet, attached the ribbon to sit directly across the 2 toned join and the main image backing sheet onto this topper.
Before securing the ribbon tails at the back, I have attached the silver peel off decorative strip onto the 2 toned backing sheet along the edge of the main image.
The main card is cut at 28.5x14.5cm and I have printed Shabby Flowers H03 onto an A4, 170gsm white satin finished photo paper, from the same floral shabby chic papers, cup1118787_2048.
I scored and folded it before attaching the topper and completed the insert before finishing the step- by- step decoupage.
The insert section, is printed on both sides, using from the same set of papers, Shabby Flowers H04 is cut at 28 x14.5cm, scored and folded and is attached to the back panel of the inside cover.
I have used the extra elements from the extra copies, as embellishments.
The white inner frame which houses the decoupage, I cut away from the second copy, retaining the ghosted image and the frame to use as part of the insert and used D.S padded tape to attach the white inner frame and the completed decoupage, using the elements from the sheet provided.
The larger copy paper image, I have attached to the left inside cover, and the silver sentiment onto the right inside panel.
I printed the verse onto white copy paper and attached the frame I had removed, retaining some of the elements and retained from the second smaller copy.
Your someone special will definitely have this as a keepsake. I love this design, thank you Karen for providing this design for purchase. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
