Free Hugs for Christmas is a perfect card topper with which to surprise friends during the coming festive Christmas Season.
I printed the beautiful sheet provided three times as I wanted to use different elements of the image to make a step by step decoupage and to use 2 of the smaller images as gift cards.
The main white gloss 200gsm white card is cut at 28 x 15cm. The red 13 x 5.5 cm and green 13 x9.5 cm backing sheets are joined by over lapping them to make one backing sheet 13 x 14cm.
I wrapped the red ribbon across the join and secured it at the back before attaching it to the larger full image using D.S. tape.
I have carefully cut out the sections of the images I have used from copy 2 and copy 3 as I wanted to use the frames left over in the insert section.
The second image is trimmed retaining the edge of the bows and has the blue frame and blue spot frame sections removed and attached using padded D.S. tape.
I have used the third image to cut around the shaped frame around the dog and person retaining the ground and the pompom.
Before I have used padded D.S. tape to attach this to the work in progress, which is forming the topper, I attached the gold string across the lower 5cm horizontal section to match with the red ribbon and secured it at the back.
The completed topper is attached using padded D.S. tape. I have used gold glitter peel off strips and a red bow and gold string strips and a gold sentiment to complete the embellishments.
To complete the inserts I have used 1 frame and a small image with a sentiment on the left and 1 frame and a Christmas verse from the free section on the right hand side.
I have made 2 gift cards, one of which is shown with the extra smaller elements.
When time allows, it is always pleasing to be able to use all the elements from the copies I have made, and the gift cards are made in the simple quick and easy topper style which is an alternative way to reuse the sheet when time is precious.
