Here are some Christmas Robins spreading their good cheer in a lace background winter holly garden to cheer everyone’s Christmas spirit.
I made a card using Clare walker’s, Mistletoe and Berries background sheet, cup797371, then printing it onto both sides of a white card which I then cut down to 27 x 13.5cm and used a red permanent pen to define the edges before scoring and folding it in half.
I made a green backing sheet cut at 12.5 x 12cm, then a very bright yellow backing sheet cut at 12x 11.25cm, and the third backing sheet is a white card cut at 11.25 x 11cm.
I defined the borders of these backing sheets with a green permanent pen and then used padded D.S. tape to attach the green to the yellow and D.S. tape to attach the white backing sheet.
I then printed the sheet provided twice and used one image of the main element to use as the main background sheet which I then attached to the top of the backing sheets.
I then wrapped the ribbon across the front 3cm down from the top edge using regular D.S. tape. After I had secured the ribbon at the back of the green backing sheet, I was then able to attach this completed topper to the card front using strips of padded D.S. tape.
I then used the main image from the second sheet to carefully cut around the white bordered main image, retaining the frame section to use as part of the insert.
I attached this smaller image using padded D.S. tape and then I cut out the small elements from one of the sheets I had copied and carefully cut away the unwanted sections before attaching this using the step by step decoupage method and tiny padded D.S. squares.
I added the red gems and made the bow which I attached using red power tape. The insert was partly prepared as I had copied the print onto both sides, and I was able to use the frame I had set aside to mount onto a white card before using D.S. tape to attach it to the right hand side for my Christmas greeting.
I used some smaller left over elements as embellishments. The design made very easily and quickly into a beautiful Christmas greeting card. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
