I prefer to use an 8 x 8 card blank as my base so that I save on ink and do not need to print the backing sheet onto 2 of the sheets, plus it makes a sturdier card.

I did print the backing onto the reverse of the front flap. I added my flap using PVA glue and all the ample decoupage using sticky pads. I added the insert using double sided tape at the spine part only. I added the birthday sentiment inside the front flap. I added crystal gems to the top and bottom banner.

This is a lovely concept and I love the extra dimension of the flap opening. It is just that little bit different and gives added interest
