Twist Turn Topper - Get Well Soon Bear
Twist Turn Toppers are a variation on my Exploding Cards. The concept is similar in that you print out the sheet onto paper and not card - thus saving you money. Follow the instructions on the sheet and on the CUP forum (click on the mortar board hat image below to be taken to the link for the instructions).
Once folded, the topper measures 3.75" square.
A surprise every time for the recipient!
This topper has a green backing design decorated with red hearts. The central image is of a bear with his arm in a sling. The text is written in text which has sticking plasters (bandaids) on the letters. The text is sideways on the main sheet but once the topper is folded the text will be the correct way up.

I made an A5 card with some green gingham cardstock.
I printed out my topper onto normal paper, cut out the image and folded the dotted lines following the instructions. Once the folds popped into place, I flattened it all with a bone folder to make the creases nice and sharp.
I made a red spotted mat for the topper to be attached to and using glue I stuck the topper to the mat. (You will find that when making these toppers, if the internal central image has a "right way up" - like this bear, then the topper needs to be stuck onto your card like a square not a diamond - to make sure that it is the correct way up once the outer flaps are opened.)
I then stuck the mat onto my card. I made a ribbon strip of matching card and stuck that across the bottom. To finish off I added 3 green heart shaped gems - to co-ordinate with the hearts inside the topper.
What looks, at first glance, to be a rather plain card - surprises you, once the flaps are pulled to open up the topper.
