News & Updates from Barbara Hiebert

This is an event that I attended, with some friends and neighbour's, that brought back a piece of history, where the making of old fashioned wagon wheels where being made. The making of the wooden part of the wheels was done over several months, in the fall and winter, and then the pictures, show the instructor, and the steps that went through placing the steel tires on the wooden wheels, and explains what the next step will be, to finish the wheels. Both of these card sheets, are scenic views of country life,

The seniors in this area asked me to help them put together a picture calendar and to restore old photo and try to make a disk to have them for viewing at functions. This is proving to be very challenging because of the floods. and fires, and the age of these photos. At first everyone was reluctant to bring in very many, and then when they have seen how, they are copied and returned, and some of the results, I am now receiving complete photo books, This is also making the calendar challenging to do because now I have to choose just a few pictures, or make several pages of the same month. to keep the smiles on all the faces. I was able to make a quick DVD for the TV for just one function, and they sat glued to it and would not move. This has slowed my designing down a little, however well worth the time. This one photo that I am showing was less than an inch square, and I very sad shape, that you could not see what was happening in the picture, and with a little work I was able to restore the picture and this is what I found.
This is a cut and fold, card to welcome a new baby girl, it is very easy to do. This other card sheet is just one of the many new Christmas designs.

This is a picture of wild blue berries that we went and picked the other day, it was hot and the mosquitoes, where not that bad, they berries where plentiful and the Saskatoon's where just hanging from the tree's so we could just walk along the roadway and pick. That hot day was an inspiration for some snow, so Here is some of my latest designs, to start your Christmas season and help to cool you off.

This is a collage of photo's of eagles that we have using a very large tree for a lookout, and of their nesting sight, these photo's are all taken from, our front steps, with a camera zoomed in, The spruce tree, is approx.. 100 feet tall, and when it is mating season, we have seen several hiding in the tree. They also like to bathe in the river and then sun themselves dry in the top of the tree. The dark brown Eagles are the babies, and we had three last summer, The babies are very hard to take pictures of. cup529964_1865, has a matching insert with verse, and cup531016_1865 is tattered and torn, and that is how I feel when those Eagles start hunting.

This is a picture of our front yard and driveway, if you look closely you can see our truck buried in snow, There is another 30cm of snow forecasted for tonight, and more in the future. This is a winter that is making history, with cold temp, and wind chills, We are snowed in and waiting for the plow. This has allowed me some time to make some new card sheets. 523266_1865, is a history book style of a card sheet, and there is also a pyramid style, with the same theme
