In March we had to have our 17 year old cat put to sleep. We were all devastated. Our dog Lisa had always had him there and she kept wandering around looking for him.

We decided that we were not going to have another cat but then our local animal charity that we support posted a photo on Facebook of a tiny 2 week kitten who had been abandoned my his mum.

He had an M on his forehead and we couldn?t resist. We reserved him for when he was old enough to come to us as he was being bottle fed with his sister.

We decided to call him Monty (although he should probably have been Menace, Maniac or Mental lol).

When we brought him home he was so tiny and we worried that Lisa would hurt him but she didn?t.

They soon became firm friends and Monty follows her around like a shadow. Wherever she lays down he is there too.

Lisa has also regain her youth and plays with him, bouncing around like a puppy, not like the almost 13 year old she is. I took this photo the other evening.

Lisa had gone to bed and he decided that he was going to sleep with her. He was just settling down but did pose for the photo.

We are so happy that we decided to give him a home and we think that Lisa is too, even if sometimes she would like a quiet sleep without him.
