460 A Pair of Step Cards
Photographs from the Community
I've made these two cards up with a completely contrasting look. One was cut out of 300gsm plain white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. I also made mats of sizes to layer on the card front, one set in a colour to match my chosen topper, a duflex flower fairy with decoupage, and the other in the same white as the base card. The "Penblwydd Hapus" greeting (Welsh for "Happy Birthday") was coloured with a metalic marker to tone with my chosen toppers as well. I used a tape runner pen to attach the layers, greetings panel and base image layers, and glue gel to attach the decoupage. The second card was cut out of a 250gsm, textured, black cardstock. I also cut out a border from cup393706_596 three times out of a cream cardstock of the same type, and had a couple of roses I'd cut when making cup392953_596. I stuck the same greeting, this time uncoloured, onto a panel of cream cardstock which I trimmed and then rounded the corners with a paper punch. I used a Zig glue pen behind each of the fancy borders and stuck them down the front of the cards, then used glue gel to attach the paper roses and greetings panel.
A very versatile pair of step cards that can be cut out of any cardstock that will go through your cutting machine and can be decorated as simply or ornately as you wish.
When I got this file, I just knew it had potential for something fun and humorous.... which is a thing of mine *grin. Of course, it's perfect for the floral and soft wedding type cards too. That is one thing I always look at when buying files, versatility. If I am only going to use it once; it's not really worth my time, unless it's something totally remarkable. That is one thing I love about the card files by Rae, I get to use them for so many occasions and styles. So Thank You Rae, for yet another fab cut file.
Ok this one was cut on the Cricut as an oversized card, 11x17 inch 110lb white card stock for the card base. Then I teamed it up with these 3 fab ladies from BugabooStamps that I colored. Added in this fun little speedometer which I cut using oval and circular dies... added in the moving speedometer needle and topped it off with a cute little heart brad.. to soften the blow LOL
This is the "PC" version of this card... there are soo many hilarious add ons that could be included for my less sedate friends, hence the additional space below each of the ladies.. ..but I will save those for my blog :)
