If for some reason your question has not been answered below (or) you can't find it on your own check out these links: FAQ: http://beyondbracelets.blogspot.com/2011/08/youtube-faqs.html Annotation Link Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuwdlbWhgeo ____________________________________________ For this project you will need: ¦ Round Nosed Pliers ¦ Flat Nosed Pliers (or Round/Flat combo like I use) ¦ Flush Cutters (wire cutters) ¦ Two 3" (inch) Headpins (NOTE: You may also use 3" eyepins or other sturdy wire as a substitution.) ¦ Round and/or Decorative beads that fit snugly on the headpins. Don't have any beads that fit? Just take your 3" (inch) headpin/wire to the store to pick out a nice sturdy bead for the tips of your earrings. Look for strings of beads that you can actually stick the headpin into. If it barely fits/fits very snug you found a good bead to use as an end-cap. (NOTE: You can also just use a headpin/eyepin as is without the bead- I just think the bead makes it really look finished. It's sort of the focal point but if you can't find good beads feel free to omit it entirely.) ¦ Seed Beads (Your choice of colors.) ¦ Brush On Krazy Glue. (It's much easier with a brush but you can use a vial.) ¦ Two Earring Hooks (These are earring wires/fish hooks/etc.) _________________________________________________________ HOW TO DO IT: Cut the flat end of the headpin off with your flush/wire cutters. Add some Krazy glue to the tip of the wire and carefully stick on your bead. **NOTE: You may want to test run putting the bead on before the glue is on the wire- it will be a big mess if you find out it doesn't fit after you douse the wire in krazy glue!** Let the glue dry for about 10-15 minutes and test if the bead adhered by tugging. Remember that ANYTHING will pop off with enough force- don't overdo it and try to get it off- Chances are if you can tug it and it doesn't come off your earring will be fine for a very long time. If you find even gentle pressure pops your bead off, give the post another coat of krazy glue and then try to reattach the bead. Repeat until the bead finally has enough of a base to adhere properly. (This may be fine on your first try if you found a bead that fits snug enough.) Start to spiral the wire using your Round Nosed Pliers. Gently grab the wire at the bead end and start twisting right above the bead so you work on spiraling the center first. Work your way outward to the tip shaping the wire as you go. Just grab the wire with the pliers and begin to twist gently to form the coil- gradually work your way up. You are training the wire so the more patient you are the better and less kinked looking it will come out. Once you have a decent looking coil start sticking on the seed beads. You can use stripes or multicolor/rainbows- it's entirely up to you. (NOTE: The beads will try to slide off. You will have to keep your fingers on the beads you have previously added so they don't take a roller coaster ride right off the coil.) Stop adding beads once you are left with 1/4 inch of headpin exposed. Now take your flat pliers and grab right along the edge of the last bead. Make sure the beads are pushed down into the spiral so you will have a nice tight spiral in the end. You can work the pliers downward towards the beads to make sure the beads aren't going to shift downwards. Now take the pliers and bend the wire upwards at a 90degree angle away from the spiral. When looking at the biggest part of the spiral spine you should have the tip of the bend looking straight up towards you. Make a regular jewelry loop with your round nosed pliers. Work away from yourself to form the loop then turn to close the loop up. Finished. Now you just need to add it to an earring wire and you're good to go.
